I know the title sounds horrible, but that's what I call the action of someone secretly or obviously taking pictures of you because they think you're attractive. This happened to me for the 4th time yesterday, and I just wanted to know if anyone else has been in this situation. I find it awkward that someone needs a picture of you in their phone when they have no idea who you are.

I have a sixth sense about cameras it's actually genuinely impossible to get a candid shot of me where I'm totally unaware that a picture's being taken. So consequently on the couple of occasions I know this surreptitious photo rape has been attempted on me I've always turned and given my best face for them. On both occasions it's happened to me it was because someone wanted a photo of something I was wearing so I probably ruined their photo with my big shit-eating grin LOL

I find it awkward that someone needs a picture of you in their phone when they have no idea who you are.

I take a lot of photos of strangers(not on my phone) and I do a lot of people watching.

I literally have thousands of photos of people I have never met and will probably never meet.

And why can't someone just enjoy a photo of you?
Some people merely admire photos for their artistic qualities, just because someone has taken a picture of you doesn't mean they're going home to bang one out because you're just too hot.

I am photographed regularly by people I don't know, and I don't mind.

Really depends on the situation of course.

dear Golf Beast 19,

you raise an interesting topic.

i don't think i have ever been surreptitiously photographed but what do i know.

i DO know that i am much more aware these days than ever before of people looking at my crotch. i never really noticed it before, but now that i have noticed it, i REALLY notice it . A LOT.

like i said in my post on this topic earlier today, i was formerly very modest about such things, but now that i am noticing it much more frequently, i have been thinking about being clever and putting on a show for them if that's really what they want........... tho not sure .

ps - for someone who posts pictures of yourself with a huge cock bulge in your white shorts on this site, for total strangers to see, i am kinda surprised you actually care about strangers fotographing you in public.

just sayin......

best to ya and thanks for the interesting post,

aloha from Hawaii

See, I force myself not to believe that strangers take pictures of me. It has happened; my logical mind is fairly certain of this. That being said, the instant I think some stranger is taking a picture of me the little voices in my head that tell me 1) not to think things that could be psychotic, and 2) not to think things that make me look conceited join in a chorus of "Bitch, please. You're wearing black socks with brown shoes. If anyone is taking a picture of you it's to put it in the next issue of Vice's DONT'S section."

Well abu101, the difference simply comes down to the matter that they're my pictures and I am the one who took them. Whereas if someone would have taken those pictures of me and posted them I see it as an breach of privacy. If they had asked to take my picture, I would have hesitantly said no simply because I'm not a mean person but I don't want a random person having a picture of me at their disposal.

Also Hand_Solo, in my situation it was kind of hard to miss their flash go off multiple times while the camera was pointing at me. Unless the wall behind me was extremely breath taking.

As long as you are in public and have no reasonable expectation of privacy then anyone can take a photo of you. It is totally legal, even if it might be a bit creepy sometimes.

I often do street photography and my camera has a huge white lens that is pretty hard to miss when pointed in your direction (see example picture below). If you see someone taking a photo of you, go up to them and ask them to delete it. They aren't legally obligated (except possibly in California) to delete the photo, but most people will do it.

I think the majority of times, your photo is just a fun shot they are taking with their cellphone. Just take it as a compliment. 99% of the time they don't mean any harm by it.

I just take it as a compliment and move on. When I was in Vegas last month I noticed this quite a bit (esp. in clubs) but I didn't mind. I figure they're going to take the picture either way, so just offer a quick smile to make their photo not look totally candid and continue on.

I have actually used the towel dance at the gym on occasion as there are a few guys that seem to be "on the phone" in an odd manner and I think they are trying to take a picture instead

I call it paparazzi.

I get it too, generally due to my fashion or "joie du vivre"
I wound up in the fashion section a couple of times because of Bill Cunningham Bill Cunningham - The New York Times

My gym has a no cell phone use in the locker room. If you violate it you loose your membership on the spot; No ifs, ands or buts!

Perhaps consider it a compliment yet they could have asked for the pic! But then would you allow them to have that pic?
No I would not. That's precisely the point. Still, I would only confront someone if they went up my skirt, down my shirt, or photographed me at the beach.I have busted dudes taking pictures of my boobs, but always from far enough away that I couldn't be bothered to protest.
