PS3 Gamers Unite!

I LOVE L.A. NOIRE! :D

Haha, my driving abilities aren't the best.. my partner in the game keeps yelling at me, it's just so hilarious. :D

Damn, figuring out if they tell the truth, lie or if you need to doubt their word is hard!
I bought SBK 2011. :D
Will get Noire later, when it's cheaper. Does look good tho.

Anyone else hear that Motorstorm Apocalypse got pulled in a lot of territories because Sony felt it was too similar in content to the earthquake/tsunami? :(
Was withdrawn from US/NZ/Aus and Japan. And promotion ceased in UK. Plus - they launched it when the PSN was down so...didn't stand a chance. :frown1:

That's the one, though I don't know how involved with since I haven't ran into any Russian gunships or anything. :p

It's good, but it feels too much like GoW for me to like it for being a Castlevania game. I haven't gotten very far yet though, so I don't think I've gotten to the meat of the game yet. I immediately stuck it on the highest difficulty I could (there is one locked difficulty above it), so it's been challenging, though part of it is because I haven't played a game like this in a looong time and it was probably the first time I picked up a standard controller in several months, since I've been using my arcade stick so much (Fighting games, schmups, Metal Slug, etc.) I should start playing it again before I get to the point where I'll be even crappier at it.

Aww. No gunships? Snake Eater is one of my favourite games, ever. I've never actually played a Castlevania game, but I've heard good things. I always play on normal difficulty (or whatever it's called depending on the game) first - it feels like a different game when you progress through to hard and onward. I've been playing vintage games lately, everything from Pac-Man to Monkey Island. I use Dosbox etc rather than actually using the original console, I leave them in semi-retirement. I know what you mean about the controller differences though. Thanks for your thoughts on the game anyway, I'll put it on my 'to get' list.

I just popped it in and I already have to relearn the controls. :p Some other good things about this game is there is usually at least one reason to play a level over again, if not more. Whether it be upgrades you cant' get yet, upgrades you missed, or the trial that is unlocked after you beat the level the first time. Also there is at least one hidden thing that is an extra 10% in the level (meaning 110% is actually completing it) iirc. Also there are a ton of moves to unlock through Exp, and a ton of artwork you can buy with exp as well which I really like, since I'm a sucker for unlocking artwork and stuff. The music is good, but not as good as classic Castlevania games imo. Also this one plays more like a classic Castlevania game rather than a metroidvania game ala Symphony of the Night (Which if you are into retro gaming I highly recommend, it's like $10 on PSN). However even early in the game there have been some branching paths to take. Sometimes you actually have to take them all to find keys, sometimes they are just different ways to reach the end with different goodies (and baddies) along the way. There are like 12 chapters in the game, and I'm on Chapter II, which has 9 individual levels in it. So this game definitely doesn't seem to be lacking content. As for the difficulty, I believe you can change the difficulty mid game, at least from the overworld, maybe even in mid level, I don't know for sure, I haven't actually tried to change it. The game also has some pretty decent voice acting, one of the characters is voiced by Patrick Stewart.

I play most retro games on my PSP, I even have the first Metal Gear for the MSX on it, though sadly the save feature doesn't work on it for some reason.

Oh good lord, L.A. Noire is just so.. awesome. :biggrin1: (I'm drowning in the awesome-ness).

Get it naaoowz! You'll love it, me thinkz. :] That Motorstorm game sure couldn't catch a break!

Was that the one Hideo Kojima was involved with? Any good?

You have a PS3?

A Castlevania game that's a lot like GoW (Gears of War)? Wow.. I thought Castlevania had like vampire things and weird stuff going on. :p

Sorry, God of War game out in 2005, Gears of War 2006. God of War has 5 (6 if you want to count the Java one) games in it's franchise, Gears of War has 3 iirc. Plus I bet God of War has more nudity! :p

Sounds good! Reminds me of the first Devil May Cry. Which, by the way, had an incredible loading time. Unbelievable. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets made my PS2 sound like a lawnmower - Devil May Cry made it burn with speed. Anyway, I generally like darker games like that so I'll definitely give Castlevania a go. It doesn't sound like a 24-hour game or something. I hate those, many great games have been ruined by pathetic completion times. I'm what some would call, an 'achievement whore' - I love to get all the unlocks, even if they're not worth it or tricky to get. 99% (or in this case, 109%) isn't good enough for me. I haven't got a PSP, never really thought about getting one before. It may be worth it for the retro element. I'll look up Symphony of the Night as well, thanks!

You have a PS3?
Yep.

Baaah! Gears of War is just BETTER! So I whip my hear back and forth and just don't care.. haven't you heard that Honey Badger don't give a shit? :biggrin1: Haha. Anyway.. fine, you're right. About the nudity.. you mean how Karthos (or whatever his name is) runs around without any shirt? Showing off his muscles?

Yep.

Meh, what the...! You're holding out on me! I bet you just don't wanna play with me. :frown1: Bastard.. :sad2:

No, no. It's not that! I just don't play online, at all. I may in the future though.

If you get a PSP it's easier to hack a 1000 (fat) or a 2000 (slim) model. I'm not sure if 3000s (bright) have been fully hacked yet, I know there is some stuff you can do with it though. Oh and there are some slims that use 3000 chipset so those ones are as hackable as 3000s. There's a lot of info out there on this stuff so I'm sure you can find out more if you want.
