Maybe he is a nudist and he just hasn't let that cat out of the bag yet since he may be frolicking only at private beachs. If I happen across him at one, I'll let you know (after I've had my way with him:smile:).

TV Guide archives show that the accident was real:

"Actor Robert Conrad, 73 — who faces DUI charges for his March 31 auto accident in northern California — is partially paralyzed on his right side. Due to the paralysis and a head injury, the court date for his arraignment has been postponed until June 10. "

Then a later news article in TV Guide 11/19/03:

"Former TV toughie Robert Conrad was ordered to stand trial Tuesday on DUI charges stemming from a collision last March near his California home. The actor is scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 8. "

When I was little my parents used to watch this TV special religiously. The pseudo-athletic event was held over at Pepperdine University overlooking Malibu with host Howard Cossell of Monday Night Football fame. One byproduct of the show was that it highlighted those with real athletic ability with those who had padded their resume.

Here is a famous incident in TV sports history with Robert Conrad disputing the results of a relay race. Strutting around like an insulted bantam rooster, Conrad demands another race with Gabriel Kaplan of Welcome Back Kotter. The comedian even in his prime was hardly a chiseled stallion with six-pack abs.

Note how Robert Conrad expertly crouches in the starters box, legs filled with adrenaline, a sprinting cheetah about to unleash a record-setting 220 yard dash. Gabe Kaplin by contrast looks like a customer waiting for his bagel and lox at a Jewish deli. They take-off with Robert Conrad yards ahead, being helped by the fact that Gabe Kaplan stays in his outer- and longer- lane. However coming out of the far turn for home something miraculous happens, something no one could have foreseen. Kaplan suddenly looks as if he is a gazelle with afterburners attached to his ass, smartly pulling away with every stride from the tiny (5' 6") straining Conrad. Television history is made on that day in 1976!
 
Bigdaddyhorse, Really nice painting! Love it. You are quite talented. I can't tell you the number of times I masturbated just thinking about Robert Conrad when I was a teenager. I would watch the Wild Wild West always in hopes that he would be shirtless. I still enjoy watching reruns.
 
In the 60's I was very young and went to visit my uncle in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They had close friends that were opening a grocery store in town. The were giving away a new mustang car and they had Robert at the grand opening. My uncle and aunt had a large home with a very large swimming pool. Robert came over to the house and went swimming with everyone. I remember my uncle had a hairy chest and the comment was made that Robert and my uncle looked a lot alike. Robert was a very friendly guy and we all played in the pool and ate hamburgers afterwards. I guess this was in his early career. He was very friendly toward everyone including the young children. I never saw him again in person but used to watch his shows and I would tell people about meeting him in person.....
