Ryan Guzman

Sometimes looking in here it baffles me at the logic or the lack of logic that people showcase.
I've seen the, Ryan doesn't want to do a gay role so he said no to Buddie thing a lot and I'm over here thinking that's a lot of power he has as an actor. By that same logic Peter Krause would have easily said nope you're not killing off my character, thank you for running it by me, see you tomorrow, but clearly he didn't have any say in that decision, so how is it that Ryan seems to have any say in anything? Truly, just think about it.

If the show, Tim, Ryan Murphy and whoever else decide that Buddie will happen, it will happen, if they tell Ryan that he has to kiss Olivers neck and then trail his lips down his torso and drop to his knees with his mouth on Olivers stomach before the camera pans away then that's what Ryan will do as it's his job. Granted the actors have said they can make suggestions and there are some liberties, but to actually decide that a perceived storyline won't happen, that's not up to them in any way shape or form.

Whatever Lou stated in that interview he did really just didn't sit right with me, literally came across as something he just made up on the spot to make himself look more interesting and maybe stay longer on the show.

Now back to the regular picture posting of Ryan thank you very much.

You have great points specially those about Ryan having power to say no to Buddie but not Peter, an executive producer at that, to have Bobby killed off.

About the Lou think I’m pretty sure that interview is where the “Ryan said no to Buddie” originated from. I actually don’t think Lou meant anything bad by saying what he said but it was the fans that complete turned into something that was not.

I mean, the difference between Peter and Ryan is the circumstances for their characters.

If Peter said "no" to his character getting killed, what's he going to do if they insist? Leave the show? When they are already trying to give him the boot? There's no leverage there.

If Ryan really doesn't want to do Buddie and threatens to quit, then he has leverage.

Ryan to Oliver (not in these exact words): 'Before signing Tim Minear said Jennifer Love Hewitt would be my love interest but I never have any scenes with her. Cut to.. now YOU'RE my love interest!'

im in the headspace that buddie isnt happening and its either ryan or tim thats stopping it from happening. i can count atleast 5 times ryans said he wants buck and eddie to stay platonic.
im over it all - i was baited by s8 but i can see its delusional to think theyre going canon.
i hope they bring in a hot man for buck to date and honestly will fast forward if they put eddie with another woman.

I sort of agree with you, although I'd love to see them become lovers. Buddie is basically the only reason I even started watching the show. Back when the show premiered I watched a few episodes but I disliked Buck so much and everything was just so over the top that I quit the show. Last year Youtube started offering me clips of that a-hole Buck kissing a man and I was like what's this idiot doing now. I ended up falling into the Buddie-verse and at the same time watched all the seasons in a row. Obviously I totally fell in love with Buck and my god is Eddie perfect for him.

However Eddie is always basically just your average good straight friend. Whatever they had possibly planned for him with Tommy was so vague that it isn't really there. Now I totally get the shipping since these two together have something beautiful and close but is it really gay? What Ryan said about the importance of showing a straight man being vulnerable is actually quite true. If they make him gay it sort of seems it was just all gay after all. That said the show already has had hugely emotional straight guys with Bobby and Chimney so... I say bring it on, make Eddie bi as well, and let us see how beautiful it is to see those two pretty pretty boys kiss each other.

In the end it's not that serious. Visibility of course matters but if they decide to skip the whole Buddie thing then so be it. I actually really like most of the characters so I'll keep watching and hoping Buck finds a good guy.

Sorry for the long posts. Buddie just touches something in me.

it just makes me mad they keep doing scenes that make it seem something romantic is brewing....... like the things these two have experienced is more than any friends would experience in a lifetime
and chris loving buck so much makes them the perfect family. tommy and maddie saying bucks in love with eddie, like stop doing these scenes that give buddie shippers hope, just to not fully make them canon.
it isnt even subtext anymore, its legit in your face script. and then to have them do all these interviewers where ryans saying "bucks my love interest now"....... like theyre pushing the knife deeper and deeper. if they dont do buddie next season, i will not watch anymore, im pretty its gonna get cancelled anyway with bobby dying..........

The problem they created for themselves is they made a big thing of Buck, Eddie & Christopher dynamic. They were like a family unit. They writers painted themselves into a corner.
When they would pair Buck & Eddie with female romantic interests, they would always inevitably fall flat and seem forced.
The Eddie character is basically straight as written and to go down the road of hooking him up with Buck seems like fan service more than a natural development.
In hindsight, they probably should never have created the impression of Chris with two fathers as they alluded to in the earlier seasons.

like stop giving us these random storylines no one cares about
chimney and maddie have zero chemistry and theyre married with kids.... it sucks that tim as a gay man wont give us the most obvious couple in the show.
Since I binged the show I never really had any major problems with Maddie and Chimney being together. Both of their journeys led them to each other quite organically. Sure it crossed my mind that did they deliberately NOT pair her with Eddie because Jennifer's real life husband (the abusive ex in the show) was possibly afraid of something happening between them, but that's just obviously my own prejudices showing.

And yes, sorry to all guys expecting Ryan Guzman butt shots and instead getting 9-1-1 talk. I'm just pointing out that the show works just fine without Eddie and Buck getting married, or at least has previously. Unfortunately season 8 wasn't the strongest season story wise which makes people even more frustrated with all the queerbaiting. Killing off a major character seemed desperate, although obviously we have no idea if the actor just wanted out or if there was something happening behind the scenes. When I found about him dying it was obvious Buddie isn't happening any time soon. We might want Eddie to go gay but besides a quite small number of fanfic loving females most women for sure love watching him the way he is, a gorgeous looking hero firefighter single father that's a bit lost but has a big heart. That's catnip for quite a number of ladies... and gents

what ppl don't understand is that peter is the executive productor but tim is the showrunner, executive producer AND creator of the show! Not one can mess with Tim!

If Tim says no, it's a no. Peter can't override it.

It's the same for everything else

it works fine but its literally the only storyline left worth exploring. its the only part of the show thats gone viral, and clearly they know that, hence all the buddie interviews over the years.

Buck being bi was a bit of a Hail Mary but its gone nowhere except make him a baker. Huh?
Hook him up with hot priest since Bobby no longer has anything to confess.
Eddie's romances are complete fizzles-all the time- and you are left with what? I guess Buddie Fanfic on the net for want of anything interesting.
Ryan's hotness has faded a little with all the face fillers and increasingly unnatural hair transplants he keeps having.
