Wow. That’s really stupid of him. It’s sad and messed up that so many black and brown people are incarcerated for pot, yet privileged white people like him publicly speak about doing illegal drugs that are far more dangerous and the police don’t investigate. Nothing happens to them.

I have 2 close friends (that I know of) who went to PV, tried to hide it from and others, but we’re exposed going to circuit parties, having group sex, etc. They’ve also gone to Miami a few times since August. We have another close friend who has been acting mostly responsibly but is defending them or apathetic about it.
Do I end these friendships? Do I try to get them to feel remorse? It’s honestly killing me.

end the friendship and if they try to get into it with you, beat their asses. I have gotten rid of EVERYONE that won't act accordingly when it comes to the pandemic whether they be family or friend. My family incurred significant losses because of the pandemic (lost businesses, no jobs) and also have a family member suffering from covid and have had multiple professors (including a professor whose baby son caught it and had a terrible recovery) and friends suffer from it. Just drop them, they are terrible people, and go find yourself some new friends.
This is rough, I feel like we’re represented by the company we keep so I understand your dilemma. I don’t know if it’s necessary to end the friendship but you may alleviate your stress by at least addressing your feelings about their behavior with them. I would suggest the least accusatory way possible because they’re going to get defensive and tune you out. You’re going to have to word it in a way that you plant the suggestion and they start to think that maybe their behavior isn’t acceptable because let’s face it nobody wants to hear they’re a crap bag lol.
