Lately I've noticed a lot of "definately" straight guys shaving their pits...what's up with that? I hope they're doing "MORE" than that but I haven't asked:rolleyes: Public shaving is populuar now but again, why are guys going all the way now??

Yeah, I don't understand it when guys shave their pits smoothe. I can understand "manscaping" and trimming it down, but not smoothe. I find underarm hair to be a turn-on and very masculine. If I wanted to be with a woman, I'd be straight.

I do it because it makes putting on deodorant easier.

It makes your anti-perspirant/deodorant work better. If it has contact with your skin (i.e. if you shave), the anti-perspirant prevents (or at least greatly inhibits) you from sweating. Also, bacteria doesn't build up on your skin and cause odor (thus the deodorant part).

OK-- personally-- I might trim my pit hair once in a rare while but for the most part I like having it there-- and I also use an anti-perspirant-- I'm not one of those into "manscent"

Now I'm wondering-- how often do you have to shave your pits? Is it like your face where it's a daily thing or is it like your balls where you jsut gotta keep up with it once in a while?

Why do guys shave their faces? It's disgusting and feminine. I'm also noticing the disturbing trend of men clipping nose hair, ear hair and (gasp) having back hair eliminated. Trimming the hair atop one's head is debatable but I guess it's OK as long as one doesn't go overboard. I've heard some men actually SHAVE their heads! This is worse than shaving their faces!

I've always found male armpits erotic...just the sight of them...i don't have any real desire to dive in nosefirst - it's just a weird "on-switch" that gets flipped in my brain. I guess my real question is...aren't straight guys that do it afraid of being branded as "GAY" whether they are or are not? Where I'm from anyone who shaves anything gets that weird sideways look...

Interesting question, and I'm sure cultures 1,000 years from know will wonder why we voluntarily scraped sharp shards of metal across our faces so as to rip out hair folicles.

Overall, there's definitely a swing toward the hairless as chic, perhaps as a result of the whole metrosexual/Queer Eye thing. Give it another few years, and hair will be in again.

But shaving their armpits? I can't imagine a guy doing this for any reason than athletic enhancement (e.g. swimmers). And, even then, compare Mark Spitz to Michael Phelps. Weirdness ...

Manscent--hmmm...depends on the man. ;-)

I trimmy pits about every two months or so. Once it gets to the point where deodorant chunks are clumping, or they don't smell clean after a shower because of the bacteria growing in the hair, it gets whacked.

I like to see men almost hairless from the neck down. It's not mandatory, but it is a preference. Bald, sweet-scented pits? Fabuloso. In fact, anyplace a man migt be sensitive, and might like me to put my tongue (balls, for example) should be smooth or nearly so.

I was just playing sarcastic devil's advocate. I use the clippers on my pits. I like the clean look and feel as well as the odor-holding hair going bye bye.

I can't fathom myself with facial hair. Scary.

A little before my time but didn't Spitz have a porn-stache when he won Gold? (or maybe it was after) If he did...what was the drag-factor* on that! (*Insert joke here) I think you're right here about fashion trends...and you're right it will probably swing back...
