Wow @ Heather Luanne
Great insight!
Does the Hadith also proscribe protecting ones body from semen?

Good question.

Many from my generation would argue about the "masculinity" of a guy sitting down to pee. --To HECK with that.
In 1991, I spent four months with a road company of a musical. We had a bathroom on our bus, and I would sit to pee if the bus was in motion...just safer and neater. When one of the (straight) guys in the crew mentioned that he almost hurt himself when he was peeing in the bus restroom and the bus hit a rough patch of highway, I suggested that he sit down next time...and he actually took it as an affront to his masculinity! "Girls sit down to piss," he told me.

Imagine having a hang-up like THAT! Ridiculous.

i've always wondered if anyone did this.

i normally pee standing up, but sometimes i sit down coz i don't wanna let anyone hear that i'm peeing, especially if i'm in a friend's house.. weird, huh? i guess it comes with giving their property some respect, so i do it that way just in case i may not be able to shoot accurately and leave the place in a mess.

Yeah, that makes sense. I even give the seat a wipe after I'm done just in case I left any butt sweat (yes, really!).

It's actually disappointing when I walk into my own bathroom after a friend's used it and see pee dribble on the bowl and/or the floor. If they can't take five seconds to wipe it up, I fear what their own bathrooms look like.

I usually sit. at 6'5" tall, if I stand and pee, i can feel little water drops landing on my feet, bouncing out of the toilet water bowl. so if it's on my feet, then it's on the floor. not good. not clean. not sure if being tall and hitting the water from a distance causes this. if any shorter guys read this, do you have the same problem or have you noticed this also??? may not be a height related thing at all.

I'm 5'9" and notice the splash as well. It's a matter of physics. I would guess that there would be more splash from a taller guy if all other variables were constant due to gravity. Only recently did I notice back splash hitting my legs when I wore gym shorts.

In all fairness to all, there is nothing wrong with sitting down to urinate I usually do when I have to have a bowl movement at the same time. but its usually standing up and even if I miss the mark I just wipe it clean thats why we have cleaners which is one of the reasons wearing briefs is much more sanitary because it absorbs the droplets of urine we collect throughout the day and thats why we I cant speak for eveyone change our I underwear on a regular basis (one should change underwear every day if not twice a day)
