Right and if he's that much of a romantic, that only makes it all the more bewildering why he's having trouble. A lot of gay men would love a guy like him and it only leads me to three possibilites.

It depends on if he lives in mainlind China, or a place like Taiwan (which is hotly contested as being a province of China as opposed to its own sovereign state)--or maybe he lives in another Asian country like South Korea or Japan. You can of course skirt China's anti-porn policy with a VPN, but he used to do a lot of NSFW streams on a Chinese app so it's just a bit confusing.
I think he mainly wears the mask to hide his identity for NSFW stuff, but posts with his bare face do exist.
