Good thread a lot of info in here. Here's my situation.

Found out my T levels were in the low 200's, and I'm only 24. Doctor prescribed me Testosterone Cypionate injections. 100mg every two weeks. Just took my 1st one today. Here are my questions:

Is 100mg bi-weekly enough? Seems low compared to most, and should I ask the doctor if I can just do it weekly/every 10 days to avoid crashing?

How often should I have my T-levels checked?

I do plan on going to an endocrinologist as soon as possible to actually figure out why my levels are so low.

I have low T levels, but am 60 years old. My doc put me on the injections but 200mg. every 2 weeks. He checked them after I had been on the injections a couple months and now they are where they should be. I would say trust your doc. I had very low T count.

100mg bi weekly will do the trick. Don't rush it and avoid the temptation to up your dosage. Too much, too fast may cause problems. Your physisian should have, or at least will answer any of your questions from this point.

Good luck

So does testosterone injections guarantee that testicular testosterone production will and halt resulting in testicle atrophy?

I've read a lot of material suggesting that. Or is that only if you're injecting to the point that it rises above normal levels and gives the signal to the testicles to stop production? Obviously I don't want my balls to shrink...

Also I took my first injection yesterday of 1ml/100mg of testosterone cypionate. Don't notice any major differences yet. Just feeling more refreshed and not as tired when I wake up.

So I went to the endocrinologist and got my T levels checked again. My total T levels were 271. But he said my free testosterone was in the normal range so I shouldn't be worried and should not be taking T injections.

This is pretty disappointing because I've had all the symptoms of low T for a long time now and was hoping injections would solve them.

Is he correct in saying that if my free T levels are within normal range my insanely low overall T levels don't matter? Or should I go to someone else?

Personally, I would get a second opinion. I have hypogonadism, and my old endo(the fucking douchebag) told me that it's like I've been going through andropause since I was a teenager, so he put me on androgel. It was my understanding that the normal range for lowo test was between 350-750, however, I've seen 250-850. What I would suggest is seeing another doctor, tell him your symptoms, and go from there. I don't know if you work out or not, but in a "shady way", if you specified that you've been working out, then that would increase test. levels, and they may want to put on you testosterone to see the results.
