Chapter 11: The Chapter Meets the Keeper
Lars, Roger, and I headed over to the house where I knew that the executive board of the chapter would be meeting and preparing for the chapter meeting that started at 6pm. I wanted to move quickly so that the room was set up before any of the other brothers got there. When I walked into the chapter meeting room, which doubled the rest of the week as our chapter dinning room, the room was set up with 6 tables around the room and 8 chairs at each table. Not wanting this banquet style meeting design, I told Lars and Roger to reset the room as if this were a pledge vote.
Resetting the room meant that Lars and Roger had to remove all of the tables and rearrange the chairs from a banquet style to a theater style room, with 24 chairs on one side of the room and 24 chairs on the other. While I watched Lars and Roger struggle to move the heavy tables, I started to regret that I had not brought Jeff; with the obscenely large arms he had now he could have lifted the tables by himself.
I regretted the fact that I had not thought that plan through. I started to realize that not thinking plans through was starting to be a pattern. Less than an hour before, I had let Daemon and Roger both loose an inch of penis size and I did not assign the size to myself or anyone else in the room. Not that it was the end of the world as there were plenty of inches that could be taken, but it just seemed like a waste of an amazing moment to watch Roger and Daemon shrink as one of the other three of us grew.
I vowed that I really needed to watch my words and think through the consequences of my actions.
As the room was being rearranged, I sat the executive board of the fraternity down and convinced them that there was no need to be upset or alarmed and that there was indeed going to be a pledge vote so the rearranging of the room, into this ritualistic arrangement made perfect sense. Leaving the 6 panel board to sit quietly and calmly, I took aside Andy the chapter president and “convinced” him that he need to hand the floor over to me as soon as the chapter meeting started.
No sooner had the room transformation ended but a steady stream of the 40 initiated brothers started to enter into the room. Each brother kind of stopped in his tracks as they entered the room, not set up for a chapter meeting, but instead set up in a more ceremonial format that they knew was not appropriate for the business of the day.
Each apprehensively entered and each made a beeline to Andy to ask what was happening. Each time a brother asked Andy said this is for Zach. I don’t know for sure, but I think most brothers assumed that meant that there was going to be a discussion and a revote on me, since I was not supposed to be initiated having won the Carrie Pledge vote.
Minutes before 6, Jeff, Billy, and Daemon wandered into the meeting and sat in the back of the room. Standing in the front of the room, I could see two things occurring. First, there was a buzz about the vote, which people assumed they would be taking about me. The second buzz was about the three people in the back of the room that no one recognized, seeing as Billy, Roger and Jeff looked nothing like they had just hours before.
As the giant grandfather clock in the back of the room struck 6pm the sergeant at arms the now pathetic Billy stood up and closed the meeting room and Andy gaveled the chapter meeting into order.
“Today’s ninth meeting of the semester is now in session.” Andy shared with formality.
“As you can see we are in a ritual meeting instead of a business meeting so please act with the appropriate decorum necessary for ritual.” Andy continued. “Before we begin with a vote, brother Zach would like to address the crowd.
As I walked to the podium at the front of the chapter room, I swallowed big, hoping and praying that I was capable of using my gift on 40 guys all at the same time.
“Hello brothers,” I started
“Before we get started with today’s vote, I have a game.” I began.
“What the fuck,” came an anonymous protest from the crowd as the buzz in the room was set off from yet another oddity coming out this meeting.
“Would everyone please stand up” As, I requested about 30 out of the 40 guys reluctantly stood. I gulped and nearly wet myself worrying that there were 10 people in the room that were not following my lead. I looked around and noticed that the 10 people that were still sitting were some of the biggest dick head hazers in the chapter and were the least likely to follow my requests.
“Why are you just sitting there,” I asked James, Lars’s big brother.
“Because, I don’t want to play any of your stupid games” James barked at me like a drill sergeant. I honestly don’t understand how the fuck you are even in this fraternity, we voted your ass out and you don’t deserve to even be standing in this room.” James literally growled as he spoke.
“No one here wants you here, you are no brother of mine.” James continued literally gnashing his teeth as he spoke.
“Get up now,” I said this time commanding him as the buzz in my spine became noticeable.
Instantly, James shot up from his seat as if his ass and his chair were both on fire. This experience taught me that there was a difference between me making a request and me using my gift.
“James since you just growled and barked at me, From now on you will act like the dog you are whenever you are in my presence.”
No sooner had I spoken than James tongue flew out of his mouth and he dropped to all fours.
“Good dog, go lay down over there.” I laughed as I pointed to the back of the room near the grandfather clock. James was a thin muscular runner who had run at least three marathons by the time he was in college, so now that he was imitating a dog he looked sort of like a Doberman Pinscher with his skinny body and extremely muscular legs. I watched as James crawled on all fours to the back of the room circled around the back area sniffing the ground and finally laid down on the ground.
