Navarro did not die by choking on a Valentino dildo. That was sensational hooey. My friend bought and now lives in the Laurel Canyon house where he lived and died. At first she was not told he wasn't killed there, but I looked the address up in Hollywood Babylon and confirmed it for her. It used to be a Spanish style bungalow, but it has since been remodeled...actually, more house has gradually been added to the original. His livingroom with fireplace, bookcase, bedroom and bath are all original structure, but wrapped in a very large French tudor manse! It's wierd to stand in the room, that's for sure. Navarro had experience with one of his killers previously. His 'butler' used to drive down to the boulevard and pick up the hustler after phone contact was made. On this particular night (Halloween, actually) he brought his inexperienced brother along. They didn't plan to kill him...but when the inexperienced brother walked in on his hustler brother getting head, Navarro reportedly invited the younger one to join in and the older one freaked out and him him. It went downhill from there. Look up the story online. In fact, after the beating he lived long enough to crawl across his bedroom to reach for the phone. As I said, it is really wierd to spend any time in that part of the house. But my friend has made it a little 'shrine' to Navarro, with lots of memorabilia. Ok, back to the topic. I heard that Stan Laurel was hung like a horse, and it posed problems from time to time during filming. Where have we heard that recently?!
