Another person I pity, just goes to show you that gays can be just as racist as anyone else, or maybe he's just a product of growing up down south. (not that all people who do grow up there are racist)

I can see you're a Sharpton guy.

Go ahead and wallow. It pays. But only in the short run.

White supremicists are usually the ugliest and dumbest white people I've seen, could it be due to in-breeding and lack of genetic diversity?

No I am not a Sharpton guy, not even close; but what kind of guy you are is obvious.

That map scared me for a second. I checked the list of skinhead groups in Georgia, and on the list they mentioned an attack on two young Black men in an area that I hang out in. Sure, it was a few years ago, but it still kind of shocked me. That was the last place I'd expect to hear about that happening :frown1:

Yup, gotta watch out for them damned faggots who raise points that you'd rather not address. Hang 'em (us) high!

But I am so honored to be pitied by a superior intellect like yours. Has anybody (besides you, of course) told you lately how gifted, wondrous and morally perfect you are? Someday I may be worthy of being not merely pitied, but even (gasp) TOLERATED for having ideas that aren't identical to yours! You know, that tired old notion about diversity of opinion being a good thing and all that. Remember?

Alas, an old queer can only dream.

(sigh) Living in the past is great fun, I guess, certainly easier than dealing with realities in the present. In my town, we have an ongoing intifada by blacks against whites, hispanics, indians, asians, and of course, other blacks. What to do in response? Hey, I know! Let's find some obscure white supremacist website and a bunch of 50+ year old pictures to divert attention from what's happening right here, right now, today: a hopelessly dysfunctional black culture that not only accepts, but PROMOTES and CELEBRATES misogyny, violence, gay-bashing and murder.

I'm sorry, it is NOT 1930 any more. It is NOT 1950 any more. It is NOT 1960 any more. It's not even 1980 any more. If you want to get all high and mighty about racism, pull your head out of the past and start thinking about why so many non-black parts of the rainbow are questioning how legit this "oh, what a victim am I" crap is.

There u go.... first of all being that you're a white person you have no idea what we go through. I didn't make this thread to divert attention to things happening today. I know what's happening today. Every person on here has heard about the Jenna 6. What I pasted today is current and is happening right here and right now.

The way you talk about black people you make it seem like we're all the same. I nor anybody i've ever met have encouraced murder and gay bashing. I have atleast a dozen gay and lesbian friends. There are so many different kinds of African Americans in this country just like there are differnt types of white people (racist, non-racist) but I clearly see what side of the fence you're on. I've never played the "I'm a victim role" but I am a victim and so are my ancestors. This coutry has done many wrong things and has tried to make things right. The Native Americans are getting rich by building casinos on land given to them by the government, when Bill Clinton was in presidency he gave every surviving Japanese American who was detained in those camps $20,000 dollars and as an African American I must say the government has treated me well by paying every last dime towards my college education at a 20+ thousand dollar school. There is a difference....i'm not bitter about what happened but there isn't a person here 9who in there right mind) who tell someone to just think about today. Lets tell the Jews to forget about Hitler since he's no longer alive to kill them. Lets tell the Native Americans to forget the Trail of Tears because they shouldn't care about their history and the people who died. Lets tell the African Americans to forget about slavery since its not happening now. How does that sound?

You seem to be saying I should forget what happened and what is going on now. I can't! When you forget the past history can repeat itself. Instead of telling me to just move on maybe you should tell each state as they continue to apoligize.

As Americans mark the 40th anniversary of the assassination of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., more states are apologizing for their historic role in slavery in an effort to begin healing the wounds created by what many have called the country’s “original sin.”

Florida last month became the sixth state to adopt a resolution expressing “profound regret for the shameful chapter” in the state’s history and promoting “healing and reconciliation among all Floridians.”

Alabama, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey and Virginia had previously done so, and two other states — Nebraska and Missouri — are considering similar resolutions this year.

Come on man, get a life. Ignorance is a bliss :frown1:

This is the exact reason for this thread. Your point is working against you because the fact that you even went the "and you don't deserve to be hated?" route shows how racism is still in existance.

The current state of urban America is quite shameful, HOWEVER, that gives no one the right to commit heinous acts against other groups for "ethnic cleansing, revenge, etc..."

I find your tone abhorrent. To suggest that there is no more struggle for people of color just because of what you've heard once or twice on your radio or because you've watched The Wire a couple of times is rediculous.

No one group is exactly like their stereotypes and there are plenty of black people, like me, who have worked hard against adversity just to be recognized as someone worth more than a color.

Ya know, no matter what you say I know all gays don't feel the way you do. You're a bad representation of gay people. Really bad representaion!

Sadly, while I might disagree with their views and mission, I do believe in their right to freedom of speech. Of course, that freedom does not and should not extend to them imposing their vision of society on the rest of us (or even me, for that matter). Anyone who makes a living off of putting others down has some problems. Period.

Lex, I believe in freedom of speech too but there are limits. If I yell "FIRE" in a movie theature I will be arrested. If I threaten someone I will (can) be arrested but he hasn't done any of these things. But to have an immoral belief is the worse to me. The spreading of hatred isn't acceptable in America. Did anybody see that racist guy that was on Dr. Phil who said the boy had the right to hang the noose anywhere he wanted? It was saddening to me. No, the guy shouldn't have been beaten but all involved parties were wrong.

My oldest brother who I never speak to and haven't for many years joined a skinhead gang in the 70's because he thought it was cool and he was an angry person, so he carried around a shalaly so he could brain what he called 'Paki's' and he did, he also brained a cop and was in deep shit for a long time, now he's a nervous, frustrated coward of a man who can't face up to life in general. I torment him from time to time and call him on everything and anything just to keep him on edge (pay backs a bitch, but I'm a bigger one). I sincerely hope that the skins in the U.S. are not active as they were in the past and only a weak symbol of the 'purity' that they think that they stand for. They need to be wiped out and shown no mercy as far as I'm concerned and my brother can go to the head of that line.

But you can't pick and choose with freedom of speech.

It's all or nothing, I'm afraid.

True, but if I thought Gays and lesbians should be hanged on a noose I wouldn't say so unless I was asked. The government wouldn't be stopping me but rather if you didn't ask I wouldn't tell.

Honestly, I've always thought gays and African Americans should stick together because quite frankly what happens to one affects all minorites and if Gays can be discriminated as to where they can't marry because of their sexual orientation it set a precident that there are ways around laws pertaining to minorities

I think 'these people' are full of shit too, but no more so than any of the above posters who somehow feel they've cornered the market on morality.

You just KNEW this was going to get reactions, didn't ya?
I don't give a damn if a particular group of people decide to hate me because of my skin tone. I can't tell them not to be. However, I can do the more responsible thing by leaving them to wallow in their own ignorance and I go on about my business. I'd expect people who don't like me to go on about their lives and not involve them with mine.

The problem arises when these misguided people try to force their views down a person's throat, and try to take away a person's basic human rights because of stupid things like the color of their skin, sexual preference, religion, etc. That's where I draw the line and I'll always be vocal about that. Highly racist (and even homophobic) people seem to think that everyone who is different from them wants what they have. Honestly... what DO they have that they think we want so badly? What do they have that we either don't already have, or can essentially get by dealing with more open minded people? If anything, they need to drop the paranoia and get over it.

Maybe I do sound like a "moralistic goody-goody" to you. But you don't see me complaining about the power the "white man" has over the rest of the world, now do you?
