I've always found the fly on briefs and boxerbriefs to be too much work. Since I mostly wear trunks with no fly, I've gotten used to just pulling the waistband down and going over. It's way less work than digging around through a little hole.

I go for the "over the fence" method when ever I wear any sort of underwear. I normally use the fly when I'm wearing pants that also have a fly. But when I have on athletic shorts with no fly and have to go over the top on the outer layer, then I also go over the top of my underwear. I kind of like using a urinal when I'm wearing athletic shorts because it's completely reasonable to just take out everything over the top, balls included, to pee.

Of course there is a brand of underwear available on the Internet labeled: Munsingwear. When I wear briefs or even boxer brief, usually in the Winter I perfer this brand. They have a horizontal fly that works quite well.

I wear briefs that have the horizontal fly that is actually functional. The two brands that I usually prefer with this style are the Jockey pouch and the Bonds Sport brief.

Jockey Pouch is my favorite as well and this type fly is easy to use. I have and wear others types of underwear and some I will "go over the top" and occasionally with the some briefs through the fly or pull it out through the leg opening. And then sometimes going commando is the order of the day.

Fly on undies is too much work, esp for us smaller guys. If I ever wear boxers my little guy is constantly popping out of the fly, not enough hang to even have a chance at staying in.

Use the fly with boxers and boxer briefs. Like I said earlier, the Pouch makes it easier.

If I'm wearing workout shorts, then it's usually up and over.
