Personally I think the site have become less inclusive the last couple of years - it's been moving away from the inclusive adult forum it used to be towards (yet another) gay porn site.

Was it less devoted to porn, more focused on debate, more open? Did women have more of a place in it?

The site was originally made as a joke. The members were focused on making it a fun site where everything/most was good natured. The members from back then usually have a special understanding of eachother and the way the site should/could be.

The site had a very large gay community back then as well but it wasn't a gay site as it is today - it was more 50/50 than the 99/1 of today. That's not necessarily a problem but the culture of the site has unfortunately changed as well - the tone is different, the goodhearted nature is long gone. The focus is now on gay porn - not having fun.

I totally agree, In fact the first site owner/creator let the domain ownership lapse because I suppose they lost interest. That's how casual it was.

Definitely in the last few years, the sites changed and for the most part , not for the better. I've moved on over to reddit for the most part because there's a number of big dick subreddits where it's more like the old lpsg. The subreddit owners can't monetize the subreddit, so people come to it just to discuss, talk about experiences and so on.
