Monster's request had nothing to do with it, Hung_Muscle. I determined that the OP's concerns had been fully dealt with and any further discussion would be moot.

Um, just an observation, but if that's the case, then I know of about 1,784 other threads that should be closed as well, and that's just off the top of my head.

:confused::rolleyes:

Really Pecker? You determined that particular thread had played itself out to it's conclusion? Interesting...I must admit, I was surprised to see that closed. There are much more highly volatile subjects being abused and discussed on this site.

I'm just curious as to the reasons why you came to that determination about that thread, and how that determining criteria doesn't apply to the hundreds of threads that have gone way past their expiration date.

Based on your stated reason, I guess it will will soon be determined that this threads OP's concerns have been fully dealt with and further discussion would be moot.

Can one member's request close a thread?
Well, it seems that it all depends on who the requesting member is, but I don't really wanna believe that.

There seems to be some monstrous power being brought to bear over LPSG lately!
...as well as a change in attitude. It used to be that the Mods pretty much encouraged an attitude of "We're not babysitters, if you don't like someone, run them outta town," and the problem members summarily were (of course the number of bright and witty members were in a seemingly much ratio than what remains today). Now, there seems more of a marked shift by the Mods to actually protect those that are the ones causing trouble, and I'm just not understanding it.

I'm sorry to say, but this is exactly what's troubling me too.

Maybe novice is confusing closing a thread with closing his legs.
Well, be that as it may ( :tongue: ), in all seriousness, I'm still seeing some problems here, and to be honest, I'm growing more and more disillusioned with this site.

The racism thread ought to be thrown ought as well.
I agree! While the OP's original intent may have been honorable and forthright; the responses show a darker side of humanity which I prefer not to deal with online.

Although I didn't request that this thread be closed. It finally was. I guess the mods finally saw that it was devolving into a rather hateful thread. It was bound to end like the one which resulted in 10 people being banned in February. :frown1::rolleyes:
