I think that you're totally right, from what I have read around the web, women definitely seem to have a preference for guys over 6 feet, with 6"2" to 6'4" being a sweet spot and apps make the selection process even easier to not consider the rest of the guys that are shorter.
Even when I was was young, 35 years ago, tall 6'+ guys had a big advantage and seemed to attract a fair bit more attention than say a guy 5'8" or 5'9". The 20/80 theory gets mentioned a lot these days with online dating.
Does your tall younger friend generally have one night stands with these women and move on? Do the women he dates expect more of a serious relationship? I'd guess that there's probably more of a mismatch, where the woman wants more of a long term relationship and he's moving on with the next woman in his inbox.
I'd guess that larger penis size is way down on the list of what women are looking for, did your friend mention this at all?

He dfintely fits in that sweet-spot height. We didn't get too much into the nitty gritty, so penis size didn't come up in our conversation. He seemed to be seeking a new sex partner each nigh night.
