Youth Hostels with Communal Showers

I'm staying at passenger hostel in March. 10bed male dorm
I stayed at Passenger as well, it's a great hostel. The beds have individual privacy curtains and the showers are closed, but there is an open changing area.
As for Northern Ireland my only hostel experience is in Derry at the "Hostel Connect" which was horrible. Sure the rooms have triple bunks and I think were single sex, but they were so clammy, no fresh air, very cold cold and the shower room (note: individual showers in a bathroom, not at all communal) was totally caked in black mould, mildew, flaking paint and damp, rotten wood, it was absolutely disgusting,.
The Passenger Hostel is lit! Awesome place and 3 nights of fun in a row!
Any recomms for Lissabon, Faro (or nearby), Seville, Cadiz? Anyone?
The Passenger Hostel didn’t disappoint with the curtains on the beds? How was the shower? Can you go in detail re it being ‘ lit ‘?

I’m not an old person. I know what ‘ lit ‘ means. I’m sure he meant lit in the cultural term it is used as meaning it was turnt up, popping, the place to be, etc. Another reason hostels are hit and miss now a days, too many old dudes. If it’s lit, I want to be there. I’m not old!
Just booked a trip for May 19-27.
I know I’ll be staying at Generator Paris and Balmers Hostel in Interlaken. Any experiences there?
Also could use some recommendations for Rome.
