Hey Everyone,

I was wondering if there are any healthcare professionals on this platform that are willing to chat for a bit? I have a family member that has a MELD score of 18, but is physically very sick. I have general questions/concerns regarding MELD score and general questions about how to move forward. I would write more but don't want to give out too much information on a public platform.

The Emory Transplant Center is in ya area. Transplant Centers are great for getting contact info to local support groups.

The waiting game is awful. Watching folks you love get sick enough to qualify for treatment is a unique hell. Having people who've gone though it helps. And they will be able to guide you through all steps.

SmartPatients.com has organ specific support groups.

Specific to Georgia is GATransplant.org very helpful on the financial side of Transplant Care.
