My reply to the OP is that it depends. I certainly like many of the large areolae I've seen, touched, tasted, etc. I like 'em large, small, and/or medium depending on how they coordinate with the boobs and the rest of the lady.

Obviously you're talking about female titties, but on a man I find them very unnerving. Nice small round ones on firm hairless pecs are where its at for me.

I won't say it as a general rule for me but I've seen attractive large areolas and unattractive large areolas. I'm still going with the over aesthetics of the breasts and that includes all sorts of things and areolas size.
