2. It's the weekend and I don't have to do my volunteer work, just my real job.

7. My daughter turns 21 next week, and I'm looking forward to her birthday, and this new phase in our lives.

Wow, what a great thread!
1. I had an insane past weekend with my brother. We hiked, visited Long Beach aquarium, took the boat trip to Catalina Island for the afternoon, and he took me to play disc golf for the first time - fun!
2. I finished a reaallllly boring job on a deparment store's Labor Day Sale ad (the happy part was it finally ending).
3. I'm reading Skinny Dip by one of my favorite writers, Carl Hiassen, and it's a perfect summer screwball story.
4. My friend got us tickets for the Zero 7 concert at the Hollywood Bowl next month.
5. I washed and waxed my car. I don't know if I'll do it again, but I can say I did it!
6. Even with the heat wave, I'm blessed to live close enough to the coast that I always have an ocean breeze to cool me down.
7. The intense smells of night-blooming jasmine and honeysuckle that make summer nights in CA seem almost ripe.
8. I said goodbye to a special friend who moved back to the Midwest. It could have been bittersweet, but it was really amazing and encouraging and restful.

- I'm on a business trip. That means someone else is paying for everything, including a fancy-schmancy hotel.

Jami got back into town that same day. Faina and I drove over to pick her up, and then we watched Magnolia together, and it was very good. And then she left to go pass out at her place and Jami and I had sex and it was really good, too.
I got my car back from the shop! That was the best. Aaron, Faina, Jami, Savannah and I all went shopping for a birthday present for my stepmom at Bath and Body Works. I didn't have a fuckin' clue what I was doin', so I just let the girls loose and told them to spend ~$50, but I wound up spending $65 instead.

I've made $4000 in the last twenty hours I've spent playing poker.
On Monday I called that girl from Target and she agreed to go out with me on Wednesday. We had a whole lot of fun. She's totally in love with me now, of course, but I'm pretty sure I don't mind. I can't decide if I want to have sex with her or not, but I think that either way I will enjoy her company in the future.
My genes are ridiculous. I am so naturally athletic that it's scary. I took a month off from going to the gym and got stronger during the hiatus. I've only been going regularly for a week and I've already put 2" on my thighs. Granted, some of that is undoubtedly due to the fact that I've gone back on creatine, but it's still unreal.
On Thursday Jami and I had what she claimed was the best sex of her entire life, hands down. Apparently she had twice as many orgasms as she'd ever had in an entire day before. I try not to let that stuff go to my head, and I think I do a pretty good job, but it still makes me feel good to hear things like that.
I got the name and number of a very good hairstylist.
I bought pizzas and gave them to homeless people completely at random.
I just spent all day with Aaron, Mapes and Anthony doing all sorts of fun, geeky things. Like spending hours at Gameworks. And buying a jawbreaker, then spending the rest of the evening with it. And eating Thai food. And flirting with the waitress. And playing an entire game of Risk 2210 AD in a single sit-down.
That is all that I can think of for right now.
