Gym dick

lol thanks for the post noinri - not too sure where penis size came into it tho (maybe thats your own issue). by all means, if someone feels comfortable showering in a parka, snow shoes and bow tie then go for it. but you, and dboy have missed the point slightly. i dont mind/care their showring habits. i dont understand it, is my point.
It came off as a rant.
So i go sauna, steam (not mixed) then shave and shower nekkid then get changed whilst Larry mcShyness dislocated his hip trying to speed remove his grundies in a towel. Keep in mind I'm not prancing around on tip toe, humming 'YMCA' but walk around as if I was fully clothed, i.e. not caring. Are we men? Or are we little boys in pe class being told to shower for the first time. FFS
It just seemed too negative to be genuine interest. But if it is, just understand that some people are more inhibited than others.

thanks for the post aplus, im starting to understand. i thought the neccessity of showering/getting changed after a workout meant shyness in that situation wasnt an option, people dont feel shy waiting for a bus or ordering a cup of coffee

Well waiting on a bus or ordering a cup of coffee doesn't exactly compare to being totally naked in a room full of strangers.... well unless those are somehow being done in the nude. I do think such things can tend to lessen peoples insecurities or whatever it is that makes them want to cover up over time. I've been on the other end, so I generally have no problems with it from others and don't find it odd really.

I think most people have a modesty level that starts and stops somewhere though.

maybe im just insane and everyone else is normal

:biggrin1: Well that I can't call, but in my perfect world, nudity would be strictly optional everywhere. Society, in most places, simply isn't having it though.

I have to ask, do some of you have state secrets tattood on your dicks? Maybe you have difficulty remembering your pin number and its emblazoned across your bell end? I only ask because of the sheer effort some guys go through to make sure no one in the locker room see's their penis. When they end up doing the towel dance I always wonder is it a) because they have the endowment of a hamster, b)they think im perving or c) everyone's face would melt off a la raiders of the lost ark. Dont get this wrong (especially you guys hoping for a 1% change in my status). Im not sittting there with a notebook and zoom lens but I feel liberated and natural when im butt naked. especially after a hard workout the last thing I want is to have anything touch my skin. So i go sauna, steam (not mixed) then shave and shower nekkid then get changed whilst Larry mcShyness dislocated his hip trying to speed remove his grundies in a towel. Hi Gymlad - good rant. There seems to be comment in some social press about the feminisation of men. One argument has been how guys choose lockups/cubicles for peeing instead of using urinals these days. This and other factors point towards what's called social shyness. It looks like it could be a generational thing but also relates to 'body confidence'. I used to photo strongmen in competitions and found that they were completely open about being photographed but died of embarassment if you stood next to one peeing - why - because often they'd have cocks that were small relative to their hugeness, one exception was a guy who came into strongman from another pro sport and was as bold as anything tapping the side of the urinal with his meat - quite a site that.

I'm a towel guy. I take off my draws, put my towel around me, walk to the shower, take the towel off, shower, dry off, put the towel back on, and walk back to the locker. Keeping my towel on, I put on deodorant, sit down to dry my feet, organize my clothes to put them on, grab my underwear, take off my towel and put my draws on. Now you don't have to watch me if you ever are in the same shower locker room with me, you already know what will happen. Seriously, I don't want to walk around naked in front of someone who might not want to see me naked, call it respect for others.

Hell a lil' shyness is sexy to a point..but yah, too much modesty *like showering in your clothes* is a bit much. What's funny to me more is the guys that practically put on a show on the gym floor...and then turn into a shy lil' boy in the locker room. These are the same guys that have half their ass showing on the gym floor...constantly tugging at their cocks...erhm...adjusting...whatever. I still don't get the gym shorts pulled halfway down your ass showing your underwear. In jeans it's one thing...*still dont like that* ... but gym shorts...sheesh!!!

Some people are just very self concious I suppose, I get exposed to male nakedness all the time through going to the gym and doing my competative cycling and its more often the case that I wish some were more self concious and I didn't have to see the horrors ;-)

Fuck you all... go the Wallabies!

(Rubgy Union isn't a man's sport anyway, go Rugby League!)

That, and, the concept of nekkidness being a foriegn notion to others should be respected. I still haven't gotten used to it while using changerooms over the past 5 years.

Yeah, I miss the ole high school shower room swagger days with everyone's dick-a-swinging. There's something, shall I say it, effeminate! about the silly change the underwear under the towel trick.

On this particular trick I might be able to shed a little light. Perhaps the person is ex military, Navy most specifically. When you live shower and change clothes with 5 people who all live withing a 5 square foot area you learn tricks to try and maintain some type of privacy. Sometimes there is shit happening you'd rather not share with those 5 people and consequentially 300 more people. It takes time to "unlearn" this behavior.

Perhaps some people just don't feel comfortable being naked around total strangers?
Perhaps other people don't feel comfortable being around naked people?
I cover myself with a towel when I'm out of the shower just to show respect for others.
If not, then I pick option c.

interesting rant

yeah, interesting rant, but notable. what he said is true. but some people are just shy. so many people are brought up thinking nakedness is seedy. Don't get me started on the Puritan ethics over here. The thing is, if I'm at the gym, I'd rather have my unit cock show than my body cause I feel like my body is poor. Not that my cock is anything to get all excited about. So just let 'em do their thing and u do urs. You might wanna roll ur eyes when you see they're about to trip over trying to put their underwear on underneath that towel skirt. But keep walking around as u do, cause it's u.
