My gym has mostly cubicles, and then a couple of open showers.

The open ones are always taken first, including by me, and I've seen plenty of lads just step into the cubicles not bothering with the doors, me included again.

TBH, I don't know why they don't just do away with the cubicles - I've even seen the gym staff opting for the open ones when showering as well. Suppose they have to give the option, but from what I've seen, most men don't care about being naked around each other.
