On the issue of the "getting drunk", reading the OP, it appeared that he was suggesting that they all get a little drunk, not just get the girl drunk. It appeared to me to be a case of nerves (on the part of all three potential participants). While getting drunk is not the best way to go, I don't think it is rape in this context.

That sounds like a good approach to me. It shows that you're willing to respect whatever decision she makes, without pressuring her into it, and that you and she are going into the situation as a team (ie. not just you and your buddy going "yeah, let's do it, right on!"). As long as she feels that her wishes are being respected and taken into account, I can't imagine her being outright angry about it.
It's not something I'd personally pursue, but it has happened in the past (I wasn't really "with" either of the guys...we were all sort of close friends, and they were best friends with each other).
