Yes, this is certainly a much more sound way of thinking of the matter than most of these posts seem to appear.

However, having some experience with mild-moderate BDSM (notably with a very sweet guy who is still a close friend), while being wholly concerned with consent and the well-being of persons involved in sex, I will say that my impression of some of these posts was that they resembled healthy kinds of BDSM play.
