Gee, Naughty, you were lucky. That lady at Wendy's only found a finger in her chili.

I remember the seventies:

Lines for gasoline on TV but not in town.

The daily tally on the evening news of the number of days for the Iranian hostage crisis (37 days...etc.).

Disco and rollerskates all over television.

Gerald Ford coming through our tiny town for some reason and my dad (the chief of police at the time, believe it or not) meeting him.

Not understanding the jokes on Three's Company. ;)

Steve just reminded me,
I remember roller discos! Skating around a sports hall in a circle for hours.... More fun then it sounds!

hung_big: Argh...If I did that I'd be sick and vomiting *hurls*

Throbing lights and circular motions on wheels?! *is sick*

Steve just reminded me,
I remember roller discos!

And that reminds of one of the most god-awful movies I ever saw on late night cable: Roller Boogie, starring Linda Blair. Did anyone else here witness that worthless waste of film?

So, Jacinto, you're the one who saw that 'movie.'

I remember

Beanbag ashtrays
Wide, painted neckties
Slinky
Friday Night Fights
Coffee percolators
Flying "A" gasoline
Bobble head doggies
Dashboard hula dolls
Edgeworth pipe tobacco
Look Magazine
Fallout Shelters

Hula Hoops

Pet Rocks

Lava lamps

beaded curtains in doorways

Elephant ear hip-huggers

Clogs

Richard Nixon saying "I'm not a crook" on tv

My first car- a '74 Caprice Classic

The "toilet paper shortage"

The blizzard in '77-78, I built an igloo!

Whacky Packages

Sid & Marty Croft shows

Match Game

Seeing the first moon rocks at the Cincinnati Science Center

How about.....

Kaiser & Frazer cars....

Hehe, reminds me of when I took my grandparents to see Titanic.

As the scene with Jack gambling in the saloon changes to that of the ship, a car is loaded on a pallet into Titanic's hold. My grandfather turned to me and said, "That's a Franklin. I remember the first Franklin in Warwick." :wow:

I remember:

* Frank Sinatra

* when geodesic domes were popular

* metal dashboards and glove boxes in automobile interiors

* the Rolling Stones, Altamont, the Hells Angels and "Sympathy for the Devil"

* when the sports pages of the SF Chronicle were green tinted

* When nuclear power and computer technology were going to bring on a life of ease and 20 hour work weeks

* Mario Andretti winning his only Indy 500

* Frank Serpico

* 10 speed bicycles were considered exotic and European

* John Carlos at the Mexico City Olympics

* when Nissans were called Datsuns

* Frank Lloyd Wright

* tuition at California's public universities was free

* when Harley Davidsons weren't trendy

hung_big: OMFG!!! TAG...you are drop DEAD gorgeous in that picture.

*BOWS AT YOUR FEET*!!!!

You get sexier by the picture!!!

I remember when working in radio didn't involve a dozen satellite dishes mounted on the roof of our building....and there were living, breathing human beings in the studios.

And gasoline was just $2.00 a gallon.

....what was it like singing for JFK? Were you all really really nervous?

Naughty

While he gave us polite attention, JFK probably could have cared less. I was fortunate enough to have already done enough singing that nervousness was not an issue. As every singer eventually learns, they'd be up there with you if they could do it as well, so don't be daunted by an audience.

I remember:

=
when stamps were 22 cents
you didn't have to dial the area code for long distance calls
I remeber the year postage went up twice and one of those was to 18 cents

I also remember picking up the phone and speaking to some one and telling them the person you wanted and then we had a time when we dialed only the last 4 digits if the first 3 were shared and now I need area code just to call some one in the same area code
