Kit Connor

buddy look at him he looks miserable
It's literally his model pose and face. He had been literally glowing over the last few months with genuine smiles and laughter. Getting more comfortable with fame. Setting his boundaries and living his life ignoring unsolicited feedback like this. When not mugging for the photo opp, the candid photos people have shared show a young man who is happy. He just chooses to do most of that away from the judging public. Sounds rather healthy to me.

He only likes his friends' posts at this point and yes, they include both hot women and men. He's not going out of his way beyond that to like random thirst posts and I don't think he would from his main account anyway because of his privacy concerns.

Anyway, he looked stupid hot at that Prada thing. Posting this one again because I can.

tbh it kinda seems kit wants to be a traditional actor where pr manages his social media and he only posts sometimes. he doesn’t wanna come off as a kardashian type who posts everything

I sincerely hope that he‘s doing that. I have mad respect for actors who stay humble and in touch with reality to some extent.

Elden Ring Movie Director Eyeing Warfare's Kit Connor for Upcoming Adaptation - IGN

I'm sure this will make money, but christ he's just starring in any old shit that comes along. Warfare is the award bait that should get him recognition... but thats being followed up with a Heartstopper movie that's essentially just fan service/a favour to Alice Oseman, a medieval zombie film (shite) and now a computer game adaptation (they're always shite but usually make money).
But then gone are the days of original blockbusters, if it's not this indie crap all that's on offer is Marvel, DC or needless remakes of 80's and 90's classics, usually with the cast changing gender or ethnicity for no good reason.

well damn jackie he can't control the state of the entertainment business.

but also no. you're wrong. garland choosing a twenty one year old to headline one of A24's biggest movies to date produced by george r. r. martin no less is believe it or not exceptionally great. rapture proves he still wants to do more interesting and arthouse movies on the side as well. he's making moves like an established actor in his late twenties. shit's crazy. no wonder the folks over at wme love him.

You know he has stated that he is not fighting for roles and has a choice of what he would like to do at this point. The jobs he has are largely his choice. He had said he is very purposefully choosing things to help build his career. Go watch the Josh Horwitz podcast. He talks about all this on there. He won an Emmy, a Bafta and was in an Oscar nominated movie. Maybe we should leave the career judging to actors who have been successful in the business.

I have always maintained this viewpoint, and I have reiterated it here: Hollywood functions as a business. An actor can achieve considerable fame, but they must also have the skill to draw audiences to theaters. As of now, Kit Connor has not reached that milestone. The Wild Robot stands apart; it showcases a cast led by renowned actors such as Lupita Nyong'o and Pedro Pascal, who are both established and award-winning. The success of Romeo and Juliet is well-recognized and celebrated. However, we cannot conflate Broadway with Hollywood, as they represent entirely different sectors. I admire that Kit, at this juncture in his young career, has the freedom to select the roles he desires. However, I think it is crucial for him to be discerning about his choices and the actors he works alongside, as this will ultimately shape the film's box office success and its impact. Alex Garland is a skilled storyteller and director, but his films frequently fail to perform well, which is a concern, at least in my opinion.

It's 2025. The days where actors pull people in by name are essentially over. IP is king. Elden Ring has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. The IP is bigger than Garland and Kit and the IP is the hook they'll use for the box office. He's working with Garland again, who has an exceptional eye for new talent. He's building a relationship with A24. The game the movie is based on is critically acclaimed. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who came up in streaming a couple of years ago.

I do not deny that it is a significant achievement for Kit to enter as a central actor within a major intellectual property; it truly is, and I am pleased for him, as he is a young actor with immense talent who has been in the industry from a very young age and is now reaping the rewards of his hard work, which is fantastic! However, an intellectual property is not everything; consider The Last of Us, which is struggling with viewership and controversies, and the second season has been a complete disaster. Harry Potter also faces controversies, and Marvel is on the brink of collapse. In other words, having an intellectual property does not guarantee success.

I don't know, I tend to not catastrophize before cameras even roll on a project. All of Garland's movies have been acclaimed, this has a huge IP to boost the box office, and Kit's run of projects in the last year has been great. The Wild Robot, Romeo + Juliet, Warfare. Clearly A24 is pleased with how Warfare did if they handed Elden Ring to Garland and allowed him to cast from Warfare. And if it flops? It's not going to kill his career. Snow White was one of the biggest bombs ever, no exaggeration, and Rachel Zegler booked Evita and a movie with an Oscar winner right after it.
