Kit Connor

Where did you read that the monk he's playing is gay?
It was in a previous description of the movie about him and Rios playing lovers. Also the director is gay and it is definitely reflected in his stage work. Plus on social media the director has confirmed it will be quite gay.

I'd never seen that descriptions, everything I'd read reported queer content was unknown.

The Deadline announcement of the movie didn't even touch on the possibility

Instinct
And while we don’t know if there will be queer storylines, the sheer vibe alone has already declared this a canonically gay event.

Out
Not much else is known about the film, and it's still unclear if Rapture will include LGBTQ+ storylines. Either way, we'll keep our fingers crossed for some monk-on-monk action!

I'm aware that Jordan Tannahill is gay (his husband is one of my screen crushes). I hope you are right. I love horror movies with gay content and this premise is just right for a quality ride.

Look on Tannahills Instagram with the post about the movie. He replied to a comment saying the movie would have gay stuff in it. It's the one where he says it will be hot and have zombies in it.

Instagram post is here. He says "it's going to be hot" in the caption. I can't find the comment with him confirming it's gay but I did see a comment where someone asked, "the real question... is it going to be gay" Tannahill liked their comment. He also liked a comment that said "we need queer horror and sex."

We also have the initial leak before it was killed by the WGA/SAG strikes the first time around. It spells out the homo lovers storyline (I posted this pack in May, sorry for the repost):

This was published by a reliable leaker all the way back in 2023. Some details like the producers and Will Poulter replacing Gael Garcia Bernal (who was never officially attached) have changed but much of the details appear the same (Kit/Manu, shooting in Eastern Europe, the 14th century monastery, "dangerous and possessed people" = a plague that creates zombies as reported in the trades).

There's no reason to think that they would keep Kit and Manu on, claim it would be hot, like the comments about it being "gay/queer" and needing to have queer sex, and then kill the storyline.

If you need confirmed reports from the trades, you won't find them unfortunately. But the odds are very much in our favor.
