Kit Connor

But why the Cyclops connection? Surely he wasn't being considered for Scott Summers? Despite the similarities to Kit, Cooper is more average in looks and build and not as good boy next door looks at all.
There's a very likely possibility that the people leaking the details were mixing them up. I mean, that was really being discussed as soon as Kit was revealed.

"Implied?" More like whack you over the head with LOGAN in the middle?!? So does this make Scott Bi, Logan Pan or hetero flexible, and Jean insatiable and or a "hag"? Is THIS eventuality why they cast Kit as Scott? 😂 Now I REALLY want to know who Wolverine is going to be played by! Well in any case, real life is often more like Jerry Springer than not so there you go....Marvel staying grounded and all.
I wouldn't have any hope that they will be anything more than teammates. Scott has always been the straight one, too much for my liking, this is only in the beginning of Krakoa era, a very recent one, also it was because everyone was really fucking everyone in Krakoa, even for EmmaxScottxJean there was implications. It's also hard to know what are they adapting, especially because the romance between Jean and Logan is not really desired by many nowadays.

Professor X leading his gang of queer freedom fighters against his toxic ex-situationship.

Now all we need is Hunter Schafer as Mystique and casting for Bobby “Community Dick” Drake 😂
I had hoped Kit would get cast as Bobby Drake (Iceman).

Yeah he better be in a tight outfit throughout a lot of these movies. Plus shirtless scenes. Its been awhile since ive seen xmen movies. Do previous Cyclops actors go shirtless?
Not really...

He already was so big and buff for the leaf show movie, now imagine him after that Marvel training camp damn

Can we at least call it Leafstopper now? It's a compromise... SIGH, I get it, but...

Exactly. The fact kit thinks this way shows me he’s pretty mature as a young actor. When you look at shows that have gone on for too long they end up declining. Wouldn’t want heartstopper to decline in quality.

:joy: Y’all would never have survived the 70s, 80s, and 90s when hit tv shows were 6-9 seasons long with 22-26 episodes a season. And we LOVED it. You got your moneys worth back then. Now we’re expected to appreciate 6-8 measly episodes that barely run 30 minutes. Streaming has warped an entire generation…

man so this has just become a marvel thread now lol

As someone who doesn’t give a flying fuck about comic books or superhero movies, when it comes to anything Kit Connor, from here on out …I’m totally fucked. :joy::sob:

Shows in the 00s and 10s still had 20+ episodes and went on for 10 seasons. It usually went to shit by season 3

:joy: Depends on the show, of course. But there were definitely shows that remained solid well past season 3. Still, I would rather always have more than less. I miss the world building, long development of character arcs, and batshit crazy filler episodes. Good god we had it so good. Sorry, but I despise what streaming has done to the industry. Anyways… :joy:

She also said she hasn't met Kit or Samara yet.
Yeah, she’s saying that because she can’t confirm them before D23. She’s saying different things to different outlets to keep the secrets, especially if she’s being asked about those two directly, but Marvel does do chemistry tests.

I really don’t think joining Marvel automatically hurts an actor’s career. We’ve seen the opposite happen over and over again.

Robert Downey Jr. spent more than a decade as Iron Man and then won an Oscar for Oppenheimer. Scarlett Johansson was Black Widow while getting two Oscar nominations in the same year for Marriage Story and Jojo Rabbit.

Mark Ruffalo continued doing films like Spotlight and Poor Things. Florence Pugh joined the MCU after already being Oscar-nominated for Little Women and then went on to Oppenheimer and Dune: Part Two.

So Marvel itself isn’t what determines whether an actor has a prestigious career.

Being part of a huge franchise can give an actor more financial security, visibility and negotiating power, which can make it easier to take interesting smaller or more challenging projects later.

Kit Connor is also at a completely different stage of his career. He’s young, talented and has already demonstrated that he can carry dramatic material. Playing a major Marvel character doesn’t erase that. If anything, it gives him a massive global platform.

The idea that Marvel actor = no more serious acting career, just doesn’t hold up when you look at the actual careers of the actors who have done it.

I genuinely can't think of a single show I watched that stayed good after the first couple seasons.
And I very much do not miss filler episodes. The rise of streaming did a lot of damage to the tv and movie industry, but ending filler episodes was the best of consequences

I'm just looking forward to see him play Scott. I would have been happy with Cooper if he had gotten it. I swear it seems like body shaming and fat phobia is making a huge comeback with all the negativity aimed at Cooper and Kit

Cooper Hoffman and Kit are two very different body types, two very talented actors and both are very hot to me. I will not be entertaining questions at this time.

She also said she hasn't met Kit or Samara yet.
If she said, “Yes, I did a chemistry test with Kit and Samara,” that would basically be confirming that both of them got the roles before Marvel has officially announced anything.

So of course she’s going to be careful about what she says. She already said she did chemistry tests, so that’s enough.
