What is it with gay men? If a guy's got even one ounce of meat on his bones he's dismissed as "soft" and "fat." I don't mean to dump on thadjock, but I hear this attitude a lot from gay men and find it really obnoxious -- like a form of body fascism.

It's not body fascism. Playgirl is known for the types of guys the present and they are not 'soft' guys. Blame them. And blame guys who feel they need to get buff to pose. NO ONE told Levi he needed to gym it up for this photo 'essay'. Or maybe they did. Either way he accepted it. He could have posed for ANY website or zine but he didn't. He chose a site whose magazine id no longer even printed. Obviously you can tell from all the posts here, let alone on the rest of the net that people are curious what the result will be.
Sorry to tell you but there's only a select population in the gay community and likewise in the straight community that have interest or would pay to see out of shape guys or gals for that matter. That's not to say everyone has to be a muscle guy but we can see average guys anyday on the street and in bed, which is all good b/c we love them too...and face it if he wasn't Palin's ex-son-in-law he'd be relegated to some stupid Sean Cody video and only a few people would care.

Did you actually see those shirtless pictures of Johnston? He couldn't have looked more lean and trim, yet the idea that someone would actually call him out for his "baby fat" and dismiss him as "soft" shows how ridiculously skewed our attitudes are now about weight.
It's this uniquely (although not exclusively) gay obsession with total perfection that I find so obnoxious.
And why shouldn't we celebrate "average" guys? Why should we condemn someone with an ounce of extra body fat as being unworthy of a Playgirl spread? I just find that attitude so nonsensical and destructive. (And, yes, fascist.)

I agree. I'm curious and he's kind of cute. I can't blame him for doing some body training, any of us want to look as good as possible when we're going to be in fotos whether it's a friend taking them or otherwise.
Dunno why folks make smart comments about drugs bought in Mexico. I've taken a holiday several times in Mexico, lovely country and very nice, polite people. I've also had occassion to patronize the chemist in Mexico and the pharaceuticals I bought all had standard brand names on them, Glaxcco, Eli Lily, Phifzer, etc. Just because something is made outside the US doesn't mean it's not up to standards, it just usually means it's more expensive.
