List of gyms with open/communal showers?

Used to love the dodge shower, was wide open! What's the curtain setup? Can you still see the guy directly across from you?
How are the Ys now with Covid? Any action? Are the steams/sauna open?

Open Showers- YMCA- North Carolina

Cary YMCA- has a row of stalled and a row of open. The open showers are used surprisingly frequently by both young and old
Winston Salem Y- They only have open showers here and it's very cruisy
Charlotte Dodd YMCA- one row of open and lots of stalled
Wake Forest Y- One row of open, one row of stalled

Please add to this list, YMCA or otherwise

*** update ***

Cary, NC = no longer has open showers

So there’s two gyms I’ve been to in the city that both had partitions between each shower but no doors or curtains in the stalls:
1. LA Fitness on Diversey and Clark- Been there only twice.
2. Lakeview YMCA- Went there in 2008. So I don’t know if the showers have been remodeled or not

The Clark/Diversey LA Fitness was still like that as of a couple years ago. But the infinitely better gym to go to in Chicago is East Bank Club. Largest locker room I have ever seen. Towel service. Lots of naked guys walking around. Naked wet areas - saunas and steams rooms (2 of each) plus a whirlpool most guys go naked in. While the showers are very private with curtains, many people leave them half open to show off / play. I’ve seen plenty of hot dudes and hard ons, and people hookup discretely in the steam and showers.

Anyone know of any locations in Chicago, or the surrounding area with communal showers? Also if anyone is up for heading to one with me I’d be up for that too! Let me know!

East Bank Club (River North area) has a lot of nudity - ginormous locker room with 2 shower areas (all private w/curtains but leave open if you like), 2 steam rooms & 2 saunas - all nude. Also a whirlpool in the locker room by the south showers. And there are 2 TV lounge areas where guys sit in towels or nude. It’s also the largest gym I’ve ever seen.

Westside y told me sauna and steam still
Closed yet other gyms in nyc are open… I think the westside ymca doesn’t WANT to open it back up bc it was cruise spot. Thoughts…? They said they are waiting on the city and management. Well the city let other gyms open steam and sauna (lifestyle fitness)

Do u know which other gyms in Manhattan have working steam/sauna?

Any others in the area? I will be in Miami and Ft Lauderdale next week
The old Bally Fitness (now LA Fitness?) in Ft Lauderdale was extremely cruisy in the locker room and showers. Have made connections in the locker room and in the shower. The showers were kind of two sections and the shower heads were very close to each other with no partitions. Lots of looking and more. That was a long time ago - what’s it like now?

UC Berkeley Recreation Facility
Has anyone been to the UC Berkeley Rex Center lately? I was a member about 20 years ago. They had a huge men’s locker room with all open showers with Bradley poles. It was amazing. They connected to the main locker room and the faculty locker room. I read that about 2 years ago they opened a 3rd unisex locker room BUT the men’s locker room was still there. Can anyone confirm? I believe it is currently only open to students, faculty, staff, and retirees - but before Covid it was open to the community (you had to buy a membership). It was pretty awesome.

in the UK these are often called 'changing villages' - they are open to everyone - there's no open / communal changing/showering space at all. It's all in cubicles.

I hate it - but that's only because I prefer to change and shower with other guys from a 'just being naked' point of view, but I get why they are being introduced. The setup works for everyone no matter how you identify or your faith (some have strict modesty rules).

What I really dislike about them is it seems to reinforce that being seen naked (in an appropriate place) is a bad thing. In addition, it's just way more surfaces to keep clean. Where I swim there's a huge changing village and the crap that people leave in the cubicles is gross. Band-aids, the sticky backing to panty liners and worse. There are bins everywhere but nope, some people are just pigs. I feel sorry for the cleaning staff - but they also don't clean as well as they should be. Give me a big open single sex space with communal showers any day. Far better set up in so many ways.

Anyone know of any gang/communal showers in Connecticut? Preferably in the Fairfield County through New Haven, CT, area. Otherwise just any gyms in the area with playful locker rooms. Thanks in advance!!!
