I get sick of them too, although I don't think I get them as often as you MZ. I just ignor them unless they have a significant amount of posts or are a premie member. I figured that if they paid $15 but still only have a couple posts, then they plan on sticking around. ^_^ But if it is at all rude or too personal, my mouse heads straight to the delete button. Some just have no clue, even when you plainly spell it out to them.
Yeah, really. I'm glad that you feel outspoken enough to say something about it on here, Zora, but if lurkers already don't seem to care too much about your privacy, then it couldn't be reasonable them to start caring now. Just use your delete button in your inbox. As for me, if I find someone irritating on here, not only do I trash their messages but I also block their screen names so I don't read their rubbish either.

hung_big: I have to agree and disagree myself. Considering I have a low post count, one might consider me a lurker, but I think it's just as wrong to judge a member by his or her post count or profile than it is to judge them by their sexuality, culture, race or any other personal traits.

Okay, let me clarify- it just takes too damned long!! What's so hard to understand about that?? I've made my point so many times, it just gets annoying. I don't have several hours to devote to each individual "shy person" who doesn't want to speak out on the board, so I'm not saying they're not worth getting to know, just that I'm not going to invest the time to find out. If you had 20 people a week who were demending 2 or 3 hours apiece from you, each one seeming indifferent to your plight of being deluged to begin with, each one thinking they're the only person in the world you have to deal with, you'd be irritated too. (clue- that could easily add up to 40 or 60 hours a week). Sometimes I'm just so overjoyed to see a name I recognise on a pm, so I'll know who I'm talking to. Anyone who knows me will tell you I'm very nice to talk to, I just don't talk to strangers, ever, nomatter what.

You are losing focus. Read the shitty pm that Jana got from a lurker. It wouldn't matter if it came from her first cousin, it is shitty. And for Jana. I would wager that a majority of the lurkers send such crap as this.
When I joined this forum, I posted. Jana was one of the first to welcome me. I can still remember what she saId. Jana has welcomed me as a member of her family of friends. But no one and I mean no one deserves to put up with some of the pm's that Jana gets.
There is only one solution for any person in her positon and that is she only accepts pms from people she knows.
Jana, I appreciate the part about how much time it would take and yes I know that that is true. But I also know your very vocal and strong feelings come mostly because you have had to deal with so many pms like this.

If someone reads the pm that you got from a lurker and doesn't understand, then there is realy no need for you to explain to them. They will never figure it out. But your explaining does help the rest of the crowd know the reason.
To all of you who get these pms, delete them and TRY to forget you got them. I said TRY. I know that to delete and not even remember that they came is the best thing to do. But I don't know if I could do that or not. Knowing that that is the best thing to do and actually being able to do that is totally different.
I know myself and know that I would be bothered as much as I would try not to be.
As much good as Jana has done for so many people on this site, she doesn't deserve this disrespect.

You accept new friendships to people who will just let you know who they are. My hat is off to you. I have been a better person and feel better about myself just from knowing you. But I have to agree. Just because you are a miniority (that would be women in this forum) that doesn't mean you have to subjected to stalking, inappropriate PMs and harassing forms of communication.
There is a large percentage of homosexual/bisexuals on this site, but with your mentality hungthick, because they are a minority in society the police or authorities shouldn't do anything if they recieve harassing or threatening emails. Though, granted, this isn't to the same extreme, it is just as valid.
And what's worse is that Madam Zora is one of the most constructive and vital members of this site. I think people should respect her wishes not send PMs if she has no idea who you are. I would hate getting a surplus of PMs too, if I was as popular as her

While I found Jana to be a fascinating and insightful person and I've posted comments to what she has said and vice versa, I in no way think that's an invitation to bother her with PM. Especially since I have nothing vital to say. People can say alot of dumb things and maybe she's just had enough of that sorta thing.
Either way, it's her preference and I have no problems respecting it and anyone else's. If I were to PM her, I'd follow the other message board ettiquette I follow, I'd post in open forum allowing her the op to say ok or no don't.

At first I just rolled my eyes and deleted them but now that thier number are quickly increasing it's starting to annoy me more and more and I'm sure I don't have nearly the inbox traffic that Zora and TexAssgirl have. So, from one more woman on LPSG. If you want to keep us around and active, please keep it on the boards.

i agree with the ladies stating they dont want private messages---i totally am in agreement that barbaric comments are not appreciated nor warrranted or wanted (and, especially from strangers).
i have 4 sisters and i know from growing up with them that a woman gets these advances everywhere she goes (for the most part) where large group of horny men gather (like bars, online groups, etc).
emails are quick to delete and take no time at all to do so, but i am in agreement that this site should have a 'buddies only' contact list and that would stop the unwarranted emails. However, until then i think mentioning it over and over is solving nothing.
