LOL! Hey, she might not be to everyone's taste but the statistics speak for themselves. And though you might not like her style (I do), it's hard to deny her voice. Powerful, massive range, and ability.

She has always been my guilty pleasure, even when no one else around me seemed to like her. I've even got "All I Want For Christmas" on the iPod I take with me when I go running.

IMO Elvis has the better voice, but Mariah is better looking. Of course her still being alive is undoubtedly a major help with regard to the latter.

I think they're about equal in their [lack of] acting talent.

I don't like Mariah or Elvis all that much. I don't doubt that she has talent, but I've just never been able to get into her music. It's a matter of taste to me, in the same way that I don't get much out of some very famous, very talented artists.

for the most part i agree, but mariah carey does have talent. now when it comes to these pseudo-talented people getting number one singles by releasing songs to go with their "hot new dance" of the next 5 minutes, thats a different story.


mariah having more #1 singles doesnt mean that she's any better than elvis. just like the person who has the most home runs isnt better baseball player than babe ruth or jackie robinson.
