When I was in college my track team went to a three day invitational at the other end of the state. We stayed in these weird makeshift dorms that were connected to the university hosting us. But suddenly it was 22 guys all packing into this huge shower room, naked and scrubbing up. Pushing, taking turns, sharing soap. Just trying to get clean and time to get to dinner. I saw every single one of my male teammates dick that moment. Big ones, small ones, squirrel dicks and Coke cans alike. Some people were trying to cover up Boners, others were fully hard and just ignoring it. We were all just crammed into the small space trying to get clean as quickly as we could. Body to body.

I have to say, like many men of my generation, (b. 1960) I learned to shower in open locker room showers and did so thru hs and college and beyond. It's hard for me to fathom why it was such a big deal for so many guys. I had a nephew who, I think, used to shower with his shorts on, as did lots of guys in his school--odious practice. But the Army cured him of his modesty!

I have no problems with casual nudity at all, especially when the others are naked or wearing only boxers. I also don't want to complain just because some other guys are used to be naked at home/hostels. The only exception is when I saw someone who was naked and acted weird. But even in that case I usually just avoid that guy rather than confronting him.

I'm not a sporty guy but I know some guys just don't care about being naked with others, so that's perfectly normal when I see someone like that in a hostel. I myself like nudity as well, but I usually only get naked in my bed. That's private space and I don't think other guys would feel terribly uncomfortable just because they saw something every man has. We are all men and we know every guy must have seen some naked guys before. If someone actually says something, then put on some clothes. It's not a big deal.

I never wore clothes on my dorm floor the entire 4 years I was in college. I would strip off everything as soon as I entered my room and would always remain 100% nude everywhere on my floor sporting my newly obtained PA piercing (I was the only one with a dick piercing so it was quite the novelty) and would only dress to go to the cafeteria and just before I had to leave the dorm floor for classes the next morning. On weekends when I didn't go home I would do the same & only dress to go to some other outing. There were about 60 male students on this floor and almost half we're always nude as well.

Open showers all through college (dorm, gym), you would be naked in front of at least 10 guys everyday, 50-60 on days you had PE in the gym. You learned to easily get over yourself, and others. I did find some of the best bodies motivation to work out more! Not our teacher but student teachers would shower with us all the time. So guys who were training to be PE teachers at uni. Definitely if you had PE or a game at the end of the day the showers would be packed. And if we went on residential trips you would have atleast one student teacher per dorm so every day him and about 20 of us would all be naked in the showers together. i lived in a co-ed dorm. at that time, the bathroom and showers were open and basically shared. the shower room itself technically was separate for girls and guys, but they were accessed from the same bathroom and had no door/curtain etc. (if they did, they certainly were never closed!!!!!). when you entered the bathroom, it was no mystery if someone was taking a shower. there were a couple shower heads in each shower room that "shy" people could use and stay mostly hidden unless someone were to go out of their way to peer inside, but using any of the other 6 heads left you completely exposed to anyone using the bathroom and sinks.

I can relate to this. I was a wrestler in college and had a really cool and impressive coach who behaved in a similar way. Not to stoke any porn fantasies or anything like that, but plenty of coaches still shower with their teams. My college coaches did a few years back and I know plenty of other coaches for other teams that did or still do. I shower with my team from time to time as well. I’m sure it’s not as prevalent as it used to be just like communal showers aren’t as prevalent, but it still happens quite a bit to my knowledge. The locker room on a sports team of any kind is a special, sacred place. What is said and done in there doesn’t make sense to a lot of people but crazy things still take place. Boys will be boys (and I don’t mean anything sexual about that I just mean nudity is constant and normalized and coaches are included in that).

I unfortunately don't think it is as common as it used to be even 20 years ago (see my wrestling coach post), I feel like today coaches are viewed as potential predators as opposed to important male authority figures and role models. I think 'me 2' has taken things a bit far and things that were never a big deal before suddenly are a huge deal.

In college stripped off to go shower in view of dorm mates all the time. It was mutual. We did not hangout naked though. After college I went to a festival with four newer friends from work. The lodging was a college dorm (summer) with all four of us packed into a room that normally accommodated two. It was like 90 degrees that day. I am similar to you and was conditioned by my wrestling coach (see separate post). We sometimes had external meets that we would travel to and stay overnight in hotels (or rather cheap motels). One time I was assigned a room with coach, and while nobody slept naked, coach just wore boxer briefs with a very visible penis line. I can relate to this. I was a wrestler in college and had a really cool and impressive coach who behaved in a similar way. Yeah, I think we did have similar experiences. Our coach wouldn't shower with us, but he was pretty casual about changing and leaving the office door open while he was changing or showering in his private shower. You could walk in there and ask him a question, he might be in various states of undress after practice or a game. sometimes you’ll see him fully dressed up in a suit and tie, other times fully naked, having just gotten out of the shower. He would talk to you the exact same way either way.

He was half keeping the door open to keep an eye on us so we wouldn't get into trouble, but I think also to show us that changing and nudity wasn't a big deal.
