Yes I certainly do. Choosing one Kurosawa would be hard for me, probably Dreams. I haven't seen Malena, but I think I'll love it.

I remarked about your eyes once and that is the perfect Kurosawa movie I could see for you. So vivid and full of life. I can see you walking through the Van Gogh paintings now.

Grazie,

Gli italiani hanno l'arte, il modo, l'alimento e gli uomini migliori.

Gli uomini a Roma sono il più bello io mai hanno visto.

Baci

thanks, I'll send you a tricolore (our flag) and a copy of Saturno Contro, probably the best italian film of the year.

To borrow a phrase from ManlyBanisters: *moistens*

In answer to your other question, yes i am a Romantic. An utterly hopeless Romantic.

Then there is still hope for those of us who dare to dream. It lies within those mystical, imaginative eyes that do you so much justice.

As an avid movie buff, I see hundred's of my favorites. I do feel that some great ones have been overlooked. Herewith, in no order: El Topo, the most aclaimed underground movie; finally released this spring. World's Fastest Indian, Diabolique, The Ealing Studios films with Alec Guinness and Peter Sellers such as Kind Hearts and Coronets, Belles of St. Trinians, Man in the White Suit (a classic social commentary) Lavander Hill Mob, Baxter (French) Rear Window, Breakfast at Tiffanys, Drowning by Numbers, Frequency and The Majestic. Thanks for all of the other GREAT choices. Someone should compile a maaster list from all these suggestions. Alex

The Lady from Shanghai - Love Rita Hayworth as an evil blond.

8 1/2

Brazil

Chinatown

Kurasawa's Dreams - Love that red Tokyo...

Can watch 'em all over and over...

In the next tier I'd put Godfather, City Lights, Sunset Boulevard, The Lion in Winter, and Ed Wood.
