That's kind of side stepping the point. My point is that to an uncircumcised man, being exposed means having the head covered with the foreskin. It's still an exposed penis since the foreskin is a part of the penis.

My observation is that only in the last 15-20 years have American males been doing the towel dance and covering up their "nakedness" in the locker room. My first experiences in the locker room was that it seemed very natural for men to be naked together. I have seen guys of all ages hanging around, watching tv, playing chess, sitting in the sauna, Jacuzzi, pool, showering together and all the time nude. These were males of all ages, body types and races. I have seen some of the same men who were very comfortable being nude around the locker room, sauna, hot tub, showers, etc start doing the towel dance or changing in a toilet stall or shower with the curtain pulled.

By what my dad and grandfathers told me men in their day were comfortable with nudity. I don't understand why over all the USA and other places suddenly got self-conscious.

From my observations what changed was women started to have a stronger voice in raising the young boys of the family and the male of the family let it happen. Also the family made up of a father in the home taking charge of the boys up bringing with the mother's help, has gone by the way side. So that there is little strong male influence for the boy to follow ( this is how a good man should conduct himself with his male peers and with women) in life. Because of the need for the single mother to work full time she does not have the time to expose the boy to his uncles and grandfathers if they are known or are part of his family circle, to help him to know how to act in the locker room or rest room. Those of a older age ( your father and grandfather) were exposed to nudity in the locker room at an early age (middle school) you did not get a towel until after you showered and it was mandatory that you shower. So for those of us that are from this era it is hard to understand the towel dance etc in the locker room and rest room. It is also true that we were not connected to our phones as the young are today ( they did not exist then). We would not have thought of taking candid photos of anyone in the nude for any reason what so ever, it was not polite to do so. Just my two cents on the subject.

I was also referring to men in my gym who had in the past been very at ease with their own and others nudity, suddenly started to do the towel dance at the same time the younger men. Why?

Everyone has seen at least one and probably more and if you look around there are many out there which are of lesser size than you soft. It's purely mental here in the States. . You're either comfortable being nude or you're not.. You either drop the towel and feel good about it or you walk around covering your cock and ass..

Also, at the spas, being naked and exposed may not just show you're confident but could be viewed as a signal that you're looking for action/sex in the saunas.. That doesn't seem right. I've been in plenty of locker rooms and I've seen your pics, you aren't even in the running for the smallest by a long shot. I was talking to my 23 year-old son about how guys his age will wait in line for a toilet stall versus going to a urinal in public restrooms. It's even more obvious when you go to a (somewhat older) sporting event venue and the restrooms have a trough-style setup with no partitions between you and the next guy. I will agree with that, I was circumcised at birth. It does not bother me at all, and has had zero affect on life.
