Shaving Arm Pits

Not my experience here in KL at all. At the spa that my brother and I hang out at a majority of men shave their cocks and balls, many leave some short trimmed pubes above the cock, but a lot shave it all. I would say that about 1/3 of the guys have clean shaven under arms. Over the years this trend started with the guys from the States and Scandinavia but now it is pretty popular across the board. The last guys to start shaving were probably the local Asian members. I have a couple of Chinese and India friends that have had all their body hair removed. Any given day at the spa you can see guys openly shaving in the showers or at the sinks; I think we all just think of it as no different than shaving our faces at the spa.

Down here in Malaysia, almost all guys don't bother shaving any hair other than that on their faces...

It's probably regarded that you are more manly by being hairy

I shave my pits but mainly because of workouts and its very uncomfortable to have pit hair when I'm in my Jiu Jitsu gi. I notice I seem to sweat a little less when I shave them or maybe it's unconnected.

I have shaved for girlfriends who preferred that - since they groomed for me I didn't have a problem with returning the courtesy.

I shave my arm pits to keep my arm pits from sweating! Yes... When the hair under my arms reaches about a quarter of an inch, I sweat under my arms even with anti perspirant deodarant... But when I shave my arms, I no longer sweat with my deodarant on.

i have seen a lot of european guys with shaved armpits. i guess it's a trend there. i like it when they shave if their pits are smooth and not dark. some can pull the look off some cannot. and as for the ladies, i don't like to see armpit hair. it's a bit icky for me.

Shaved pits (as well as almost everything else) is huge in central Europe and Russia. Not sure where it started but most young guys (20 and 30 somethings) have smooth pits. A very straight friend in Berlin, who was totally smooth (except legs) until a few years ago, said it started more as a fashion statement in the east and he thought it came from Russia. I know that going to any fitness club or pool here in Prague you will see more smooth pits than hairy.

I think you're right, it's somehow a generational thing.
I'm 40 and shaved male bodies are a turn-off.
Includind arm pits... which is quite an ero zone... if natural ^^

I trim my pits every few months. I get testosterone injections and one of the side effects for me has been a big increase in the growth of body hair. My pits just went wild, so ever few months I take the clippers to them just to keep it under control.

Sorry I didn't read every single post, so this may have been answered. But am I the ONLY PERSON who shaves their pits because it makes it feel cleaner when putting deodorant on!? I don't do it cause I think it makes my pits look better or I like it, its just easier to work with deodorant without my under arm feeling plastered. All of you who love BO, I'm happy to let it flow, but I don't work at a gay porn studio where everyone finds my body odor lovely. So yeah, I shave my pits.

i read an article in mens health that said shorter hair means less body odor. Something about not having as much stuff in the pit so that it can breathe more. I've noticed when I shave my pits( i don't shave to the skin, but i take the razor and cut it down to pretty short but you can see its still hair). I do have less sweat marks in my shirts. you know how when you get your hair cut they put their fingers and then slide up to cut it to a certain length thats what i do.

I've got to cut mine as well - I have overactive hair growth in my pits...Drives me NUTS. I have literal bushes growing out the front and back of my underarm.

I don't mind hair under my arms...but this is too much!

If I don't have some hair under my pits, I find my perspiration is much worse and tends to run down my chest.

One thing I notice is after I cut it down, it's itchy and prickly for a while. Any tips?

I shave them occasionally for a couple reasons.

Just like with pubes, when they get too long, I get itchy. So I shave them every other week or so. There's usually some hair, but not too much. I don't let it get longer than a centimeter.

Plus I find that my deodorant/anti-perspirant is a lot more effective when it can actually get to my skin rather than just gunking up in my armpit hair.

I shave pits. Cleaner and smells better. It's still manly with shaved pits. I think it's gross hair hanging down with deodorant stuck on it.

I ride a bike six days a week and work at a gym, I find that shaving my underarms is more hygenic and comfortable. I get rid of the sweat a lot better.
