Tall men?

I believe both men and women like a tall man. Personally I LOVE them. I am portuguese and only 5'5" my entire family is on the short side from 4'10" to 5'7". My husband is 6'5" and a perfect fit for me. It is all in ones personal preference.Lucky for me my husband prefers them short.

I think I got tired of towering over the opposite sex in the 7th and 8th grade.

I'm 5'9", but I'm almost 6' in the clogs I usually wear. So I much prefer a guy who is at least 6' tall.

I always thought that women were more prone to disliking shorter men, than prefering taller men, though to me, 6' is average for a man

Being around 5'5" at 13, and now only scraping 5'11", I'm more than a little disappointed with my height :frown1:

5'8-5'9 is the actual male average right now.

I'm 5'11" and ur not short at all, ur more like slightly taller than avg. lol.

Although, by the time I am older and have kids and such, I'm sure the average male height will have reached 5'11" - so by that time we'll be considered average in height.

Also, as NIQ mentioned earlier, and at least for me since I tend towards very petite/short women (5-5'3"), most of them think 6'0"-6'1" is extremely tall. I can't say as I wouldn't if I were that much shorter either. But for guys, you have to be more like 6'4" minimum to be considered really tall. So, it all comes down to perception. Is there really much reality to it?

I'm 6'2" but was 6'3" before age started shrinking me.:smile: Most of the women I've dated over the past 50 years were tall, but I have been with a few wonderful thumbilinas.:biggrin1: I think in general women prefer their men taller.

Hi, I'm 6'5" and had a girl friend only 5' even. She said... "it's all the same when your laying down".

It was great, now that the fond memories come flooding back, I would never exclude someone because of their height.

I have always loved tall men. The tallest I ever dated was 6'5 and the shortest was 5'6. I am only 5'3 so it is rare to find a man shorter than I am.

I prefer men over 6'2" tall, if we're just talking about a first glance. I am more likely to notice a man who is very, very tall. My best closest male platonic friend is 6'3, and he's always amused that I keep introducing him to dudes who are bigger than he. My current boyfriend is 6'5".

I think women love tall men. As a 5'11 man I don't quite fit into that category, but I'm sure I'd attract more women if I had a few more inches

As for living longer, you're sadly wrong. Really tall people get more heart problems and die younger, didn't you ever see My Giant?

i am nearly 5'9" and always wear heels, so i usually run between 5'11 and 6'. it's a personal preference, but i love dominant men ... so when i was with a guy who was under 5'11" were a total turn-off.

I prefer taller men too. They have to be at LEAST taller than me, and I'm 5'8". I don't wear heels often, but when I do, I also don't like to be taller than the guy I'm with, so I prefer men at least 6'0". Now, if I met a guy who was 5'9" or 5'10" and fell madly in love with him, I wouldn't turn him away just because I was as tall as or taller than him in heels. And I know that comes from the "protection" standpoint... I couldn't date a guy shorter than me or skinnier than me. If we got assaulted in a dark alleyway, I'd feel like I'd have to fight the guy off... and I really would prefer to not do that. :biggrin:

I like a tall man...6'3" to 6'5". I'm only 5'5" but I like to wear really sexy shoes with a heel of 3 to 4 inches. I just like height on a man, I like getting lost in him and feeling protected by him. I also love big, broad shoulders and blue eyes.

I think the consensus is 'tall guys rock!' Like many of the other gals here, I am just 5ft2in, so actually, any guy above 5ft 6 seems tall to me. But I seem to often date guys 6ft or taller, and I like the way I feel next to them- The tallest was 6'7", he was a real sweetheart, and we sure did look funny walking together or embracing, and he got a lot of backaches cos I was always stopping during our walks, wanting a kiss.

There are many of reasons why you aren't able to date. You should risk it sometimes. Go out there and meet a few women. Maybe a few women that aren't your type. You should feel like you are just as good enough as those other guys out there.

Then, there is the question of choice of mate. Maybe you are choosing the wrong mates. You will have to reconsider choices.

Hell, in shoes I probably am 6 foot, for me it's more of a psychological thing, in that a real man is 6'+, irrational I know, but I feel what I feel!

Hoping I'm not quite finished growing yet, considering I was predicted to be around 6'2", I almost feel cheated :tongue:

I'm 6'6" and I get dates, though that's pushing the upper end of what's considered acceptable and venturing slightly into freakishly big territory. I think most women who say they like tall guys typically have something more like 6'1" or 6'2" in mind.

Well, I like tall man to be carry around and play etc but I like to dance and etc because I'm so petite it can become problematic too tall, he has to bend a lot, and my neck tenses, etc. Realisticaly a 1.80/5.9 would be good tall for me..but I can adventure no more than 1.90/6.2, i tried...
