She faces the double standard for women. Tough, driven working woman comes off as cold, cruel, and power hungry. But a man acting the same way is considered gifted, strong, and smart.

Some say she is "ambitious" and thats why she is running for president. She points out that ALL candidates are ambitious about running (thats why they are running!) and that she is ambitious about the things she can get done for America.

I believe she will be our next president. She will be a Margaret Thatcher type, and will restore America's dignity and respect around the world with just her name. She will be amazing.

The liberal media is notorious for reporting only the negative, and they're too proud to admit when they're wrong. If I listen to it too much I would go into a depression. Some people on here frown upon Fox news because they somehow see it as an attack on their own agenda. What they don't realize is that they are getting both sides of the story, and sometimes it's not what they want to hear.

When you say she's a lying, cheating, whore, are you referring to her marriage or just her as a person? There have been rumors of infidelity on her part, but none have ever been proven as they have with her husband.

I am referring to the preception that the media has developed and spun about her. I, personally, do not know her and cannot make any judgements about any alleged whoring activities (although she can hardly be blamed for cheating on him if she did!)

Hillary needs to realize after Iowa that she's lost this and wasn't ever really in it. Last time around it was Howard Dean that everyone thought was going to be the Democrats nominee. It turned out to be Kerry/Edwards. Hillary wasn't even close in Iowa regardless of this kind of stupidity:

Gee, she was just the obvious choice in Iowa, I wonder what went so horribly wrong and like last year's college football national championship, there was no way anyone was going to beat her, she's "Hillary Almighty". I guess like cfb, the true results are why they still make them play the game.

What really got me in an uproar just this weekend, watching a NH debate, she figured, even as boldly made the remark, that putting a woman in the white house was as far away from the "status quo" as it could get when it was being discussed as to whether or not her experiences over the last 16 years as the first lady and now Senator wasn't 16 years of the status quo in terms of dealing with the issues we all know any of them has the solutions for. How unfortunate, the only thing worse would've been OBama pulling out his race card as a response to Hillary's comments ?

We only get the AM venue, while the liberals get almost all of the television venue as an audience to preach to. I'll take what i can get, even if it is on an AM station where the frequency sucks. None the less, im never surprised with the liberal mindset here, it is the demographic.

Hillary Clinton needs a voice transplant. When she yells out to her spectators i feel like sticking sharpened chopsticks in my eyeballs.

I am a staunch republican and i would vote for Obama. I didnt say i am voting for him. But i do like his charisma.

You know what irks me the most about every candidate in both the major parties? The fact that they all are so confident they are going to be president that everytime you hear them speak its "When I am president I will...blah blah" Id like to see the humble guy who respects his voters more and say "If you elect me as your president I promise...blah blah blah" Instead of all the pompousness. This isnt directed toward anyone but everyone, its a freaking annoying disease.

I happen to really like Hillary Clinton, been too long since I lived in the U.S. to be fully aware of all the political points of the candidates but I always thought she had a tough time from people. I think all women in politics do. They have to have a tough exterior to really be taken seriously by their opponents and then they are criticised for it.

The one thing I did notice about opinions on Hillary when I lived in the states is that people are rarely indifferent towards her. You either love her or hate her it seems. Few are in the middle.

I think we can blame the media for this. They can make or brake a candidate. Just listen to Chris Mathews of MSNBC. He pounds on Hillary all the time and kisses John McCain's ass right in the round brown.

I had the same impression you do earlier in the year. But Hillary surprised me with her demeanor during the CNN/YouTube debates. She was friendly and engaging to the audience. And equally surprising, Barack Obama was somewhat academic and aloof during those debates.

It looks like Hillary is done. Obama is the flavor of the moment; if his momentum lasts through Super Tuesday, he will have the nomination in the bag thanks to independents and cross-over republican voters. At which point, the republican nominee will begin a frenzied chant of Barrack Hussein Obama and remind everyone of Mr. Obama's Islamic roots and lack of experience. This will make the cross-over republicans and independents go back to the republican party, highlighting a fundamental flaw in the system.

Obama is reminding a lot of people of John Kennedy, but most fail to realize that if we had the same political climate then that we have now, we would have sworn in Nixon in '61 instead of '69. In order for true change to take place, people must think and decide for themselves not give into frenzies whipped up by the media to suit their own needs.

Sorry to say this but a politician is ALLOWED a private life. To suggest his affair had a f*** thing to do with effective governance is one HUMONGOUS load of crap hosited on us by the corrupt Right Wingers.

Better words couldn't have been said! If we chased down and made every Republican that has either had a known drug dependency, affair or an "outing", they wouldn't even have a govermental party anymore.

Republican/Right Wing opponents have always been against Hilary from the beginning. They constantly attack her because deep down they all know that she has a good chance of winning. Even with Obama winning the Iowa Caucus (38%), Hillary still showed a strong folllowing as well (30%). One primary doesn't voice an entire country. To be honest, I wouldn't mind if either Obama or Hilary wins in '08. It's still too early for me to decide. But ANYTHING is better than the current administration, or a bible thumping preacher like Huckabee.

I'm pretty much sick of the Clintons. They will do anything to win. They will trash the hell out of Obama at any opportunity.

But that's what politics is all about these days. Trashing one's opponent in order to make yourself look better. At least the issues between Obama & Clinton are more towards real issues, unlike most attacks from the Right Wing which are more about a person's personal life than anything else.

And dudes... Fox News is EVIL. I don't understand how anyone can get a real story out of that network without some HEAVY level of right wing bias. Didn't they try to break a story about Edwards and how he got his gardener pregnant, and use the NATIONAL ENQUIRER as their reference? Talk about not having a leg to stand on. When you use TABLOIDS as your main source of info? You can say that other networks (or the liberal media) is only focus on the negative. But try to find something going on that is actually working for America right now? Unemployment is up, the enviroment is is going insane, poor people don't have any real means to make any money or get health care, the stock market is plummeting and our relations around the world with other countries is in the toilet. We should be worried about these issues instead of who's sleeping with whom in the White House.

I agree on both, but they are neither what I am looking for. In eight years of Bush jr. administration, interior and exterior trust in American policy has faded. Whoever is next faces a task similar to the one of Gerald Ford in the seventies, who had to restore the trust after the Nixon fuck-ups. Charismatic or not, it is no task for an unexperienced, but a political heavyweight.

I would agree with you to a point. I recall when President Ford came into the fray, a lot of people thought he couldn't do it do to inexperience. Do you think that maybe the nation (Democrat and Republican) are just so hungry for change that Obama is the last hope for true new change?

As a conservative democrat, I understand the problem. I do not subscribe to all of my parties ultra-liberalism and at times feel like we need more people like Lloyd Bentsen with voices in the party. There are only 3 candidates I am even bothering to consider:

Barack Obama, Mike Huckabee, and John McCain

Now for me to leave Hillary out of the mix is a big deal as I was one of the PR people during President Clinton's two runs for the White House. I am not sure Hillary is strong enough to manage the presidency. The same could be said for Obama, but at least he will be more open to change and I agree with Claire, the nation needs healing, but I think new ideas are needed as opposed to age old partisan politics.

Would you honestly vote for the guy who gets to the podium, shaking with fear, and starts his speech "I hope and pray I can become president." No, you are going to vote for a strong confident person. It's human nature and they all (the candidates) know it. It's Politics 101.

The even funnier part is when each party picks it's candidate, the same people hating on the named leader will be kissing butt to be their number two. What a tangled web the political stage is.

Exactly! Another member in another post accused a lot of us as being fans of a certain conservative media personality. I am not and I don't think others are either. WhatI do think is that if you are going to truly get the most info on any topic, political party, movement, etc., you have to listen to both sides. As BedHeadRed pointed out, the only place for the conservatives is AM radio. I listen to Rush, Coulter, and yes, even O'Reilly. Then I balance that with Olberman, and the rest of the liberal media. Toss in some NPR and then I think if you can weed out the facts from the spectacle, you go forward armed with a more wisened view of the process and the players there in.

Extremism in most cases breeds hatred and hard feelings, hence why I encourage everyone to listen to all sides of the arguement. I'm not saying you have to like the people you listen to, God knows I don't, but they may help you make a more informed decision.
