Why Do Men Love Supermodels?

Many "regular" girls out there could look as good as supermodels with a personal trainer, personal make-up artist, hairstylist, lighting expert, professional photographer, etc. and someone to airbrush all their photos after too, of course. and if they took better care of their bodies. and then the fact that the phenomenon of celebrity seems to enhance anyone's attractiveness.

.

NO they can't. Like I said i have seen 2 women who could be considered SMs and there just had it naturally. Long legs, narrow waists, beautiful classically faces, full lips, nice cleavage/breasts. These girls are selected for that.

To the others that are dissing SMs: If you are talking about the *waif like* SMs then I am in agreement. But if Cindy Crawford, Petra Nemcova, Daniela Pestova, Naomi Campbell, or Laetitia Casta walked into a room all this LPSG pandering hits the floor, because i have seen what a tall beautiful woman does to a room.

The most stunning women in the world now, the ones that get the SM label come from the Eastern European countries and Brasil. Yes there are men who like other body types, mainly cuz they can't get a super model IMO. There is a reason those women sell millions of calendars, get the cover of Sports Illustrated and date rock stars and movie stars.

I prefer Kelly Brook/Lucy Pinder type models that are curvy and have a fully figure.

Anything thinner than a size 6 (minimum) is just wrong, unhealthy and setting a misleading trend to young girls.

That said, most girls who make it in the modeling world have very good bone structure, highly symmetrical faces, good skin, remarkable poise and other qualities that make them attractive. It's not just about being skinny. and not all supermodels are that skinny, either.

Nicely put. With all the publicity regarding a recent model's death due to an unhealthy weight, many of the agencies are requiring a minumum body fat percentage of 18%.

I believe that models that obtain the title "super" probably have more give in their body weight as opposed to someone unknown who is just starting out or working runway. There must be a tremendous amount of pressure to be adolescent thin while still retaining breasts and ass.

That being said, I believe that curvier women look far more sensual and womanly. The ideal now pushed by the media is for extremely slender, but just as it has in the past, eventually a different body type will become the the more popular.

Not to generalize or state that all men are this way, but I have found that my male friends who go for the more voluptuous body shape tend to have a greater passion and appreciation for all female forms and seem to have more lustful escapades.

In the end, it's the personality and sexuality that will ensnare and keep things hot.

I agree with the last line.

However most men would take this over about anything else.

but they can't get that.

Its only my opinion but I have seen it first hand so i have some reference.

Yes, they are lovely, and the photos are sexy.

However, it's not necissarily reality. Back in my day...ahem...when I ran away and joined the airlines after college, I worked SFO and JFK. Now, I'm not a celebrity person. In fact, they annoy the hell out me. But I can tell you that celebrities and models don't look like they do in a magazine. Not to say they are not great looking, but I see more men and women out on the street who I consider to far more beautiful in looks. It's more a matter of how you photograph.

Of course, I've also seen Brad Pitt up close, and I don't find him to be good looking at all, so it's all a matter of taste. Put Viggo Morteson in front of me and you would no doubt get a positive reaction, yet I would hate to think of the amazing men I would have missed if I had compared them to a someone in a magazine and found them lacking.

My point is that you cannot hold a real life person up to an ideal that has been created and airbrushed to look the way they do. Look at Hugh Grant and Elizabeth Hurley. She is beautiful, and everyone was shocked he cheated on her. But as one friend of mine put it, just because she is beautiful in bed, doesn't mean she is hot in it.

There is a difference between wanting to bed a model so you can say you did, and wanting to because there is a real spark between the both of you.

There is a saying, I find it damn true: "Show me an incredibly beautiful woman and I promise there is a man who is tired of fucking her" :biggrin1:

I don't disagree with much of what you say, Wildhoney, but on this site particularly there is a lot of pandeirng to the few women who post here, gracious as they are, but i know what I have see, up close in person, and its really amazing. Tall very beautiful stunning women just overwhelm the room.

Is there a woman for every man? i think so thats nature at work. I know that if Daniela Pestova or Petra Nemcova walked into the room and Jennifer Aniston was in the same room, most guys would want the first 2 not JA, if they had that choice.

The supermodels named don't look sickly thin like some models do, but they still lack the mega curves I go for, and don't even have average curves. The only curve I ever see mentioned by supermodel lovers are breasts. Some meat on the breasts is desired, even though it's not anywhere else. The butt hardly enters the picture as the models I see on the runway usually have very small butts. I suppose many of them aren't flat, just small as hell, but even the ones that have enough to call a butt they are so far a cry from a Serena Williams' booty that if she was standing next to them their butts would look like a boy's. I could care less about the elite image. I know what makes my dick get hard just from sight alone. One must not care much about curves to be into thin models. I'm talking about Curves with a capital C, not just a hint at curves.

LMAO......ok, dammit. That just about made me pee my panties, and now I have nothing! rabble rabble rabble!

Anyway, with Photoshop, of course they are supermodels! Now real women are far more interesting. I'm a fan of a woman made of flesh, rather than altered pixels myself.

Pretty faces are all, but cute "flaws" are nice little things as well. Trust me on that one!

I think what we consider curvy isn't what it once was, curvy once carried a connotation of being plump and all the women who are named as being curvy now aren't really that curvy, they're only curvy in comparison to the waif like supermodels, Serena Williams, Beyonce, J-Lo, they're all slim women but with tits and arse. Remember the average size is now considered to be a 16 (no idea what this is in the USA, I think your sizes are 2 above ours) and all these women are far smaller than that.

Why all the belly aching in this thread? Most women won't give short men the time of day. I find the double standards quite amusing. Here is the deal. Everything matters to everyone. Gay, Muslim, gimp, podiatrist, etc. Everyone knows where they stand in every society, in every stratum. Many pretend they don't know. Some will carry the bags for the high and mighty in the mistaken belief they may one day be mistaken for the high and mighty. Not likely.

Men like supermodels because they are told to. Gisele is one of the ugliest supermodels there has ever been, but there is a machine behind her. Of course she is still better looking than many women. Height does matter, figure, weight, it all matters. If you are one of those BBW, you have my sympathies 'cos there ain't no such thang! Why do people want to think pretty people are fatuous or otherwise flawed? Because it makes the bitter pill of settling for less less bitter? You have to get to know people before you can judge. If you are being shunned by pretty people , it's because you are not pretty enough. Or hung enough (to stay on topic). Birds of a feather fuck together. Sucka!

What a sad bitter man you are.

I'm still going to say they'll go for one who is slim but with nice tits and arse rather than the one who's got a big arse :)
Could'nt agree more. Slim, Perky tits, tight arse is going to win out over a big bottomed girl most times. That is not slag of bigger bottomed girls, but in a bar setting, see where the guys are looking- the slim ones or the bigger ones?

I think actresses tend to be much prettier than supermodels, if you actually take a good long look at some of the supermodels they're pretty funky looking. I was watching tv earlier and Helena Christensen was on an advert and she looked decidely plain, Claudia Schiffer has a dodgy chin, there are a number I find unattractive, perhaps actresses simply need better faces because the camera focuses much more on that in films, while on the runway the body is the important part and needs to be long and lean so the clothes hang uninterrupted by those damned inconvenient tits and arse :)
The faces I loved were those of Sophie Marceau, Catherine Deneuve, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Twiggy has been promoting a range of clothes in the Uk, I didn't much like her when she was younger but she's now a very lovely woman.

I don't believe your observations here are correct. I can name two male friends who are short. One of them looks like George from Seinfeld and the other looks like Mr. Incredible before he starting working out. Both are married to gorgeous women, one of whom is six foot, blonde, and amazing to look at. One of my brothers is a 6'3" blonde adonis, and most of his girlfriends and now his wife are BBW. My sister would be considered a BBW by some and her fiance is very handsome, gorgeous body.

In addition, being hung may be the only stipulation to some women who aren't looking for anything more than a satisfying time, but if that "Dick" isn't attached to something more it isn't going anywhere else. I don't care how good looking or hung a man is. If he sidles up to me somewhere and his personality is lacking or he is a jack***, the only think I feel is distaste.

I believe really depends on where someone is in their life maturity wise, depth of character, self-esteem issues (some people feel the need to have a certain look in a partner to try and build themselves up in some way), and intelligence.

Many people look past outer appearances, because they realize there is more to a person. Others, and I have male and female friends that do this, only go out with a certain type of person. Interestingly enough, these are the same people who cannot maintain friendships or relationships, because they cannot connect with someone on deeper levels. There is never any REAL intimacy, and they are missing out on what is really important.

For me it's because they usually wear very little and that's such a turn on, when you can almost see them naked but your still wondering what's underneath those ugly clothes!

It could be something to do with age Act, we all grow into our selves as we get a little older, become more confident, care less about fitting in.
Really Honey what I believe is pretty much what you seem to believe, but all the threads about this type and that type annoy me because they're all feeding into one stereotype or another. It's the woman inside the package that attracts the man, confidence and the ability to have fun is what attracts men, the most gorgeous woman in the world isn't going to be attractive if she's sitting in the corner scowling and looking like a wet weekend :)

I agree, a confident, fun, intelligent, smiling woman has it all over the other women.

Ummm, you left out the thighs. When I brought up their names I made sure to mention the thighs. Thick shapely thighs rank second to me, behind the ass and ahead of the breasts. You say Serena Williams ain't all that curvy. I very strongly disagree. She's 5'9" or 5'10" and a walking mass of mega curve.
