Why do people catfish?

Ok, so as some as you know in February I discovered that I had been catfished by someone I met online in September of last year.

Why do you think people catfish? What do you think of the individuals that catfish? Any other thoughts about all of this?

Pretty likely considering these people often put a considerable amount of time into developing these false online personas.

I made plans to go visit my catfish, though I didn't know it at the time, for valentine's day and looking back it seemed like the person kind of enjoyed screwing with me after "she" rejected me.

Agreed. The second type is a damn shark. Dangerous and ruthless as hell.
