Worth It?

Initially, a lot of what kept me here was the creative trolling. There certainly have to be limits, but I loved the antics of certain posters who could be counted on for their good humor. I used to spend a lot of time here laughing. I even created a few threads I think started out funny, but I remember them crashing and burning when some half-wit didn't get the joke everyone else was in on. Still good times. Humor often requires intellect, and that same intelligent life here made the heated, all-out wars on the threads about social and political issues interested. But what held the community together was sticking together when the hateful trolls popped up, and the willingness to goof off and flirt with people one might just have been telling off in another thread. Some of that loss has to do with how times have changed. That past bit has become impossible because back then, it was easy enough to fall back on "I don't need my friends to agree with me," but now divisive issues are more informative about who a person is at his or her core. Folks on opposite sides of the debates of today literally would not be friends, even when they might have a lot in common. The will to find what one might have in common with the other has eroded. That's not unique to this melting pot here. I'm rambling. Sorry. You know I do that.

Two members switched profiles. They posted each other's galleries, and it was like a huge inside joke shared by all the regulars. Large-scale trolling. Nonsense threads with clear irony, spoof threads poking fun at a serious thread that was off the rails, epic trolling everyone was in on. A poster who made grandiose claims about his 14" dick, proof in his gallery was a ridiculous cartoon drawing. This inspired some of the legit female posters, constantly accused of being men, to add similar images to their galleries. Glorious trolling that was carried over into threads that became "fleshpiles".

One thing I'm glad is still here, is the community's willingness to rally around a struggling member. Even bitter combatants are willing to come forward and recognize humanity and strife, and offer comfort or advice. With that in place, the rest is not lost. We all just need to regroup. It would be worth it.

I think the female members are what makes this site worth having. A guy can be reasonably sure that a real woman’s perspective is what he’s getting when a woman responds. If I ask a question, most of the time I’m not interested in hearing from guys.

Case in point: my first post on LPSG was a question about whether I should be embarrassed if my gym shorts revealed too much anatomy. I wanted to know if women were grossed-out if they saw that sort of thing at the gym.

And I have a weird psychological need for female input and approval.

I think my first thread was in the Ask a Woman forum too. The one asking what they thought of submissive guys.

They were pretty non judgmental and straightforward, which is nice!

I have the most enjoyment with the fun threads though. Not everything has to be about penises and such.

I have enjoyed your participation here, Todd. I remember that thread you posted and that I appreciated how you broached your topic. A good amount can come off one dimensional or sleazy or leading or well, you know. Yours wasn't at all as I recall

And you so right, fun threads are some of the funnest because you can joke around and get to know people. And just be a goofball. Sometimes that is just what I need

Got to say , that the nasty shit drives me away a fair bit . I have two approaches for nasty people ,a) avoid them , b ) belt them . I find the former to be best , as the latter invariably brings trouble . . I guess what keeps me here are the people , and the education . As far as the Women's issues section is concerned , for the guy who want's to keep his mouth shut , and his mind open , there is a " treasure house" before him , and all he has to do is read /listen , and if he has something sensible to say , contribute . Real Women , real experiences , real advice , thank you ladies , you have taught me plenty , and don't mean the act of sex , i already know that shit . I'm talking about being a better man . Of course , there are some fine fella's here as well , but I am in the specific female section . All can say , T & J , is that your time isn't wasted here , for as they say ," if you can save just one , your time ain't wasted " , and you have had a hand in saving me . Hang in mate , we need you .
