Initially, a lot of what kept me here was the creative trolling. There certainly have to be limits, but I loved the antics of certain posters who could be counted on for their good humor. I used to spend a lot of time here laughing. I even created a few threads I think started out funny, but I remember them crashing and burning when some half-wit didn't get the joke everyone else was in on. Still good times. Humor often requires intellect, and that same intelligent life here made the heated, all-out wars on the threads about social and political issues interested. But what held the community together was sticking together when the hateful trolls popped up, and the willingness to goof off and flirt with people one might just have been telling off in another thread. Some of that loss has to do with how times have changed. That past bit has become impossible because back then, it was easy enough to fall back on "I don't need my friends to agree with me," but now divisive issues are more informative about who a person is at his or her core. Folks on opposite sides of the debates of today literally would not be friends, even when they might have a lot in common. The will to find what one might have in common with the other has eroded. That's not unique to this melting pot here. I'm rambling. Sorry. You know I do that.
Two members switched profiles. They posted each other's galleries, and it was like a huge inside joke shared by all the regulars. Large-scale trolling. Nonsense threads with clear irony, spoof threads poking fun at a serious thread that was off the rails, epic trolling everyone was in on. A poster who made grandiose claims about his 14" dick, proof in his gallery was a ridiculous cartoon drawing. This inspired some of the legit female posters, constantly accused of being men, to add similar images to their galleries. Glorious trolling that was carried over into threads that became "fleshpiles".
One thing I'm glad is still here, is the community's willingness to rally around a struggling member. Even bitter combatants are willing to come forward and recognize humanity and strife, and offer comfort or advice. With that in place, the rest is not lost. We all just need to regroup. It would be worth it.
