You are absolutely correct in one point, hickey: the site is private property, and therefore not subject to first amendments guarantees. This is a private business enterprise. Its owner has the right to do as he pleases with its content. Don't abuse words like "censorship" when speaking of what goes on here. Grow up and try to understand that when you insult your host he has the right to dispose of your writings and your account as he pleases.
Don't cheapen the concept of free speech by getting into an argument about the deletion of what you say by those who find it offensive and are in a position to rid the board of said content. There may be cases where I would defend what you have to say, but their prerogative to delete what you write trumps all. People have fought and died defending my right to free speech. Don't dishonor their sacrifices by mentioning it within this context; it just...doesn't...FIT!!! If you don't like what happens here, the web is glutted with free blogspaces where you can set up your own forum and bash away at whomever or whatever you choose as a target. When a thread disappears, you abuse the concept of "rights" when you say that your "rights" have somehow been violated by the person or persons who deleted it. Most of it's drivel, anyway.
I've been a member of this board for almost four years and have yet to read anything here that I felt remotely deserved to be recorded for posterity. There may be some self-important, self-aggrandizing, narcisstic cunts who disagree with me, but I just don't give a shit what you think. You, and whatever passes for thought in your confused little brain, are not as important as you believe.
The problem we have here isn't with deleted posts. The problem lies in a generalized lack of respect for ideas, and a great deal of confusion about what an idea actually is. HERE'S the big IDEA: PRIVATE PROPERTY.
I don't expect any of you to get it. Just keep wallowing in your barbaric ignorance.
You are absolutely correct in one point, hickey: the site is private property, and therefore not subject to first amendments guarantees.
The point you are missing, you stupid cunt, it that there are paying members on this site. It is the responsibility of the ownership and administrative staff to provide the purchased product as advertised[/I].
If I might ask, what exactly are paying members of this site not getting as advertised?

Let me spell it out, if some are just being too dense to understand. You are absolutely correct in one point, hickey: the site is private property, and therefore not subject to first amendments guarantees.

When someone joins the site, they do agree to abide by the terms of service, do they not? It does not have to be a slick madison avenue commercial; the terms of service spell out the responsibilities of the members AND the site owner and administrators. Do you disagree with this? That is what is advertised. The site, subject to the agreed-upon restrictions, provides content.
The members, for their contributions, expect a certain reciprocation.
What is unclear about that?
And why do threads keep disappearing?
Still a bit vague to me...however since you are not paying anything and The moderators and administration have not had any complaints from anyone who is paying, we will wait to hear from them.Let me spell it out, if some are just being too dense to understand.

I thought we locked you in DC DEEP's dungeon next to mickeylee?!?!
That would never happen.
HickBoy:
The thread in question, the disappeared thread written by AlteredEgo some hours ago, was a carefully reasoned scenario about why a certain chronic poster should be banned... a logical, non-inflammatory (to my mind) case was made about why this certain poster can freely harrass other posters and remain unaffected, while we have seen a rash of similar posters banned for equivalent trespasses.
In other words, there seems to be no rhyme or reason why Poster A is not "banned"... while Posters B & C get banned for similar offenses. The playing field seems to be unequal.
Like a good defense lawyer, AlteredEgo laid out a well-thought out case. I appreciated its balance and sense of fairness. It presented good opportunities for member debate. So, that's why I felt a bit rattled to see the thread so conveniently disappeared.
I mean, we have some of the most innane threads here... Like "Sucking Off a Sleeping Straight Dude" (which is, of course, technically, endorsing rape). Why do rape threads stand yet AlteredEgo's post quietly whisked away? Why not be able to argue out a real authentic LPSG dilemma as AlteredEgo so thoughtfully presented?

I'm sorry to correct you here Nudey but I did complain when I was a gold member not that anything was done about some of these same issues.
Which is why I chose not to renew that Gold membership.

Not any more vague than the application of the ToS, as far as I can see.Still a bit vague to me...however since you are not paying anything and The moderators and administration have not had any complaints from anyone who is paying, we will wait to hear from them.
Watching that makes me want to punch babies.
For one thing, I put it precisely where I intended to put it, nudeyorker, and for a reason... it is an issue that is affecting quite a number of members. To answer the question about this particular thread, it was addressed to Rob E and the moderators and should have been posted in the moderator forum in the first place, that is where it is now. In this instance it is a case of putting something in the correct forum. The purpose of this thread was for moderators and administrators not member discussion.
