Jockstraps why and when?

I like the Cin2 design also. The the straps attack at the front prevents wedgies. I just wish that they were made in a "plain" version in white or black without all of the writing on the waist and straps. I'm looking for support, not attention.

At 34, maybe I'm one of the older guys and maybe I'm not...

I workout 5 days a week and wear a jock strap most days, because it gives me a bit more confidence and motivation. I'm gay and like the aesthetic of it, but you can take or leave that... I don't think a jockstrap is inherently better or worse than compression shorts, which is why I use either depending on the workout.

Legs? Jockstrap all day long - when squatting it just provides me the best comfort.
Upper body? Really just depends on what I grab, because it doesn't matter.
Running? Compression shorts - depending upon how much you sweat, after a few miles a jock just gets completely saturated and loses its support to the point it becomes a nuisance.
Core? Really just depends on what I grab, because it doesn't matter.

Living in the city and going to a gym with mostly 20 to 40-somethings, I sadly only ever see another jockstrap about once a year. It's a dying breed unfortunately :/
Team jockstrap 100%.

I wear them to work construction in the summer heat. They support my hangers and keep them off my legs. Also they allow a breeze on my ass. Love them in the summer. Gets so hot here and humid. Dont care who sees the waistband. I sweat.not quite that time of year yet but it is coming

Which brand do you find the most comfortable for working?

How are the Goldberg ones?

After reading the posts, it seems like jockstraps are more acceptable to gay/bi guys? The straight men doesn't really seemed willing to wear such reveal designs?

Well I dont wear to show off. More of a comfort issue in the summer. Dont know how guys work in the summer in boxers. Makes a sweaty swinging mess for me. Everything sticks to everything.

Good question. I go to a straight type of gym and I saw a man yesterday in his 60’s had one on when he dropped his shorts after the work out. Only time I saw one.
I’m in my 60’s and wearing a jock at the gym just seems normal and I do it all the time. I gave up being embarrassed about folks seeing my jock in the dressing room in fifth grade.

I’m a straight man and I wear jockstraps to work out they’re used to keep my package in place not for any other reason. It has always bothered me how underwear is stigmatized

Hey guys,
Ive been looking at some jockstraps and they sure look damn sexy on most of guys. I thought about buying ones to wear during summer or workout for better ventilation, but I wonder how socially acceptable it is to undress myself in the locker room wearing a jockstrap. Are there any guys here who use jock straps for reasons which are not only about sex?
Wow. This really shows how things have changed. "for reasons which are not only about sex"???
Let's recall that jockstraps began as ATHLETIC gear. Guys wore them for decades. It wasn't until the 90s or so when the odious "Fashion jocks" came into being, along with increased openness about being gay, so now, I guess, they're associated with sex, not working out. That's a MAJOR cultural shift, and a bit of a pity. I'm almost 60 and recall that ALL guys in hs and college wore jockstraps. It was just what you did. I loved seeing athletic dudes in their jocks in the locker room, esp if they were unself-conscious about it--just wearing it around the lockerroom cuz it was just us guys.
Now, having said that, I certainly believe in their erotic qualities, no question. I used to swipe them from guys' lockers in hs and college and take home and beat off. They remain my quintessential erotic artifact.
Nonetheless, the fact that you ask the question about "other than sex" indicates, as I have said, a sad change in the attitude toward jocks; in fact, the less "fashion/sexy" they are--the more regular, everyday their purpose--the sexier they are, to me.
