They don't get to see what their donor looks like when it comes to sperm. They get to pick physical characteristics similar to their spouse for example, brown eyes, brown hair, etc. in order to have the child look like more of a possible reproduction of what they would create if they were able to conceive on their own.
They don't pick the guy because he looks like Tom Cruise, they wouldnt know what the guy looks like. Sperm donors like to remain anonymous and they categorize sperm based on the physical characteristics of the man. If they didn't, a woman could have some randomly generation sperm sample.
People who can't conceive don't go around thinking of their future sons dick size. You are happy to even become a mother at all. You don't even think about their genitalia until after they are born and if they are normal thats all that even matters.
As a woman you'd probably hope your son doesn't have a real problem with his genitals like micropenis or something else dreadful to deal with. If people are thinking about breast size on their daughters and dick size on their sons when they are using donor sperm and eggs- they are stupid and its not likely this is even crossing their mind.
I have lots of friends from my infertility years that used donor eggs and sperm- trust me these things are not even on the radar.

Parents don't really think about the size of their children's genitals. Trust me - it doesn't cross the mind of the average pregnant or TTC couple.

I've been a midwife for several years and seen many many infertile couples and all they wanted was a healthy baby.The only time they were bothered about the babies nether regions was to see if they had a son or a daughter.
I too am infertile and had to rely on IVF,albeit with my husband and i wouldnt have cared less if my babies had come out sky blue pink with yellow dots as long as they came out.I know my husbands felt the same.As long as the baby can urinate then WTF would any normal parent care about the size of the babies genitals?

This is one judgmental group. I was just asking a question. Parents who order "Designer" babies and pay big money worry about or sorts of weird things like what college they go to, what gpa they have there, are they an athlete. Does any of this stuff really matter? I was just asking a weird question. My personal feelings are that there are alot of needy children out there that need a loving home for adoption.

Hmmm, honestly I never would have thought about it. I'm pretty sure you can go to speciality clinics and pick the father(sperm donors) eye color, hair color, ethnic background etc. I doubt it would cross my mind and is this something the donors even put on their application? And how would we know if he told the truth? Personally I would try to get a donor to be someone I knew in real life anyway, but to each their own I guess.

Have you ever set foot in a doctors office? These clinics that take these samples don't ask for things like "Penis length and girth" "Do you have low hanging balls" "Are your breasts large?"

So when you got your nuts handed back to you, you could have just moved on and realized you didn't put a semi-intelligent thought about the subject before asking about it.

Egg/sperm donation is nothing like making designer babies. Designer babies are illegal.
I did however watch a tv show where people do go around meeting and visiting the donor, getting to know everything about them, what they have achieved in life, what they look like.
They spend years finding the 'perfect' man in hope of passing on desirable genes and characteristic to their kid.
