Body Issues

Wally, I have nothing more to say. I can't possibly expound any further on this issue. We will have to just agree to disagree on this. At the end of the day, you measure your worth by societal ideals and I don't, that's all there is to it. It doesn't really matter if you think I'm just coping with low status or if I think you hate yourself and want company...it's immaterial to both of us. We said what we had to say, let's just move on, apologize to DL and cease the hijack.

In an episode of the Care Bears, maybe. But in reality outside beauty trumps inner beauty every time.

Now, that's not to say that physical beauty beats everything. Many things trump beauty. For example, money, power and fame all beat beauty when comes to determining one's status. In fact, depending on the person, race can trump beauty as well.

The important thing to remember is that inner beauty is of minor importance when determining a person's status. Now, that's not to say that it has no role, but it's role is extremely small when compared to real beauty.

Actually I have a Bedtime Bear sitting on my desk that my first boyfriend bought for me since I always fell asleep in his truck:redface:

Now for serious business. Wally, I feel very sad for you. You are allowed to think whatever you wish, but I do wish you did not see everything so harshly.

There are people who walk through life and only see a persons outer beauty, social status, wealth and intelligence. Maybe these people believe those things are all that's important. If these "high status people" are ugly on the inside, they may not care about the homeless or the helpless or the abused. Their beauty, their money, their social status all fades away to me.

I believe that everyone gets to choose a path to walk through life. A person can spend everyday with self loathing or feelings of inadequacy, jealousy or hatred. These feelings can make for a very sad individual that does project ugliness when you speak to them.

Wally I have many friends and they are all beautiful in their own way regardless of the way they look, their race, their social status, their wealth, none of this is important to me. They are my friends because I love them, every part of who they are. I don't care about any of the rest. What I want are good people in my life, nothing more and nothing less.

I have a hard time expressing myself with words. I do try, but somehow it tends to become rather jumbled when I write it down or when I speak. Do you think the people that love me care about that? Do they care about the way I look or any of the other "high status" qualities you seem to think are required to make a person important?

They don't. I know they don't. They love me because I am me.

Bedtime Bear was my favourite! I have one that my sister bought for me.

You express yourself very well actually. Your personality shines through in your posts and I'm sure you're well loved here as well.

Wally you great curmudgeon, we love you even if you are sometimes amazingly self deceiving!

And yes it is extremely possible to be depressed since the age of ten. I myself was clinically depressed since the age of six, and it is often a chemical imbalance over which we have little control. And it was not diagnosed until I was sucidial, post puberty. Don't rule out the possibility that you could benefit from a mood-check.

And if a 'friend' is giving you 'low status' evaluation, that is the time to recheck your definition of friendship. Telling Leezard your positive opinion of her looks is just as important as the stern warning stance. Your penetrating and thorough cogitation is also an asset, even if you sometimes think too much.

Actually I don't feel inclined to love him, even if you do. His negativity and spectacular ability to put people down turn me right off.

Agree entirely. Look into that Wally and you could find your life turning around. I was depressed for a number of years and it fucks your life up. Get some drugs and/or counselling and it may do you the world of good.

When have I put other people down?

These are no doubt debatable, but they are some examples I see of you putting others down. Putting yourself down in the same post (which you did more than once) does not make it OK.

Haha No. Not everyone is beautiful. That's a ridiculous lie.

Not everyone is beautiful. Some people are ugly. Now, these ugly people are still human beings and deserve a certain amount of respect, but they should also respect others and not put their ugliness on display for the world to see.

I've always supported the ostracization of ugly people. I think the ugly, and other defective people, should be constantly reminded of their flaws because it will give them the motivation to fix their flaws and remind them of their place within society.

I'm sorry for your predicament. I think everyone deals with being low status differently. Being a low status individual can be a very traumatic experience, especially in your case when you've fallen from a higher status to a lower status. I don't agree with your method for coping with low status, but I recognize that it's your method and hope that it works for you.

Even though you don't think that status exists, I hope you can reclaim your lost status soon.

The first three are general statements where I did not call any specific person ugly. The last one I can understand being seen as putting someone down, but in reality BBW36 called herself low status and I was only responding to her own self evaluation.

Now I admit that some of those comments were a bit snarky, but to call them put downs is a bit of a stretch.

I don't agree with the ideology presented in this post at all.

Actually, you said that:

I am currently in search of a partner, but have had little success because I'm a low status individual.

What I said was this:

My place in society is wherever the fuck I want it to be.

...and this:

I'm also not afraid to admit that I am among the least desirables in society when it comes to my obesity.

In layman's terms, it's only my obesity and physical disabilities that has presented obstacles. I am otherwise college educated, well-read, have enjoyed the successes of more than one career, I met and married a wonderful man, have an amazing kid, I'm currently studying for my 3rd career endeavor. I have a business partner, a business plan and I plan to have the business take off in the next 5 years. I am afraid you misconstrued what I said because I never said I was low status.

To be honest, I can actually thank my physical disabilities for the turn in my life path. I was making great money and had plenty of status and success in my last career before I got sick. Ultimately, my medical issues took me out of the game long enough to make me realize that I was going the wrong way. Now that I've made the proper changes and I'm heading in the right direction again I am happier again. Like everything else, it's a process, but I'm getting there.

But if you lived by the standards created by society, you would be able to get a superior lover and lead a happier life. How can that be wrong?

When I was younger I followed society's rules and standards. As I previously mentioned, I enjoyed status and financial gain by following these rules but I was supremely unhappy. By all means I was phoning it in. I only became happier once I stopped applying those rules to my life and started living my way. Is the idea of rebelling against the system and enjoying status on one's own terms scary to you? Most of those with the highest status are people who broke rules, went outside the box and let their proverbial balls hang out for everyone to see. I may never have the level of success someone like Bill Gates has, but I'd rather fail on my own path than someone else's.

Your boobs like big enough to me. Is that a large C/small D cup? That's pretty big.

You are pretty and you have a good body. Only post something if you want to but you have nothing to be ashamed of and lots to be proud of.

Nope. 36b. but thanks

I'm no prize, my ugliness is something that I've talked about a lot on this board. My views on ugliness come from my own experiences. Without people ostracizing me for my hideous appearance, I would never have been motivated enough to get plastic surgery to fix my appearance.

Not all of us are made of money, sunshine.

So I started spying on some of the LPSG Ladies' pics to see what sort of ideas I could get for pictures to post of me....

I have to say, I'm very intimidated. Nothing brings a damper to an idea more than the fact that I could definitely not compete, with my small scarred boobs, rolls, stretch marks, scars, cellulite....

Would, in y'alls opinion, more fully-clothed pictures be considered sexy, or would I just be wasting my time?

You shouldn't feel like you HAVE to post anything, clothed or unclothed. Each person has his or her own comfort level with what they let appear on the Internet. If you're only comfortable with clothed pics, then post those. If you want to go further, then it shouldn't make any difference whether other people like what they see or not. Anyone who doesn't like it doesn't have to look.

... If you have the same persona in the real world as you do on this site, the responses you get are probably in response to your negative attitude...

Very few people have the same persona in real life as on the Internet, because to do so would get them punched in the mouth. Distance and anonymity always seem to build courage in jerks.

BBW36 has already pointed out that it was YOU who called HER low status, so I don't need to address that.

The other statements were put downs. You just happened to be putting down whole groups of people, instead of individuals.

Actually, you said that:

No. What you wrote was:

I'm also not afraid to admit that I am among the least desirables in society

In your eyes, I am of low status because of my obesity

You outright said that you were "among the least desirables in society" and that according to my criteria you were of low status. Those were your own words. These were your own words. I did not call you low status, you called yourself low status and I just went along with what you yourself wrote.

Not true.

Those weren't put downs, they were statements of fact. Although, I will admit that one of them did indirectly endorse putting down others, it was itself not a put down.

I am... exactly what you read here is what I'm like in real life....that said, wallyj seems to have derailed dazleezard's thread.

I'm 5'7 120 lbs and have body issues just like everyone else. I don't think of myself as beautiful but I don't walk around feeling sorry for myself either. I have attitude and a great personality to make up for any visual shortcomings. A few members here have heard me complain about a pudgy belly, non-existence boobs...and I have parts touching that never used to touch.

We all have issues with our bodys.... some of us just don't give a crap what anyone else thinks....
