It was not immediately clear, due to the wording which Davey used. It seemed sincere when I first read it, and I stated, post 9 of the Fake thread,

"if it's real then the best of everything to you."and then made the additional comments about it being assinine if it was not real. I stand by the idea that April Foolery was taken care of with the upside downing and even placing 'banned' under names can work. Making a thread, I felt, crossed the line. Not everybody knows the twisted workings of the mods minds and for some it appeared very real. Humor (or for our poor spelling British neighbors, humoUr) is a strange thing. What's funny to one is not funny to another and often it is presentation which sources the difference. The thread would have gained more clarity of nature; if, in the title he'd placed a comma after FAKE.

We should not go around offending people ... that much is true.
But it gets a little boring hearing people shout from the rooftops that they've found good cause to become reactive.
