Final Fantasy

Squall's cool, but the emo factor's way overdone on him

"...Whatever"

The card game was good in VIII but Cloud will always be the best main character.

I'm probably gonna start a new game soon. Or maybe do a video of me whooping Emerald Weapon. Anyone know anything about FF XIII?

I heard the main character is female

I didn't know it was out on 360 and PS3

I remember hearing initially that it was a PS3 exclusive. Its not been announced yet for Europe.

Apparently that's the reason for the release delay - adding programming to make the XBox version playable.

The PS3 one is supposedly ready for release, but they want to have both versions released simultaneously, so we'll have to wait for the Xbox version to be finished first :frown1:

That's not true:

"During Microsoft's media briefing at the 2008 E3, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIII would be released first in Japan on PlayStation 3 in 2009,[1] then released in North America and Europe on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The latter would start development only after the Japanese PlayStation 3 version is completed, and could possibly come on multiple discs.[34] A Japanese release of the Xbox 360 version of the game is not planned.[35]"

Oh, well.

What he said :biggrin1:

I'm more excited about KH now, compared to FF...

IMHO, the FF franchise started its fall after FFX :frown1:

Agreed re: FF franchise downfall....but I don't see the appeal in KH either - besides an incredibly cool concept - with its poor execution.

I thought 12 was pretty good actually - the best after 7 and 9.

But it isn't the same as it used to be tho, I admit...i do miss annoying random battles, lol. Also, the feel of 12 was slightly reminiscent of Tomb Raider for some reason...

PS: Just remembered - the best FF tune EVER is 'Black Mage Village' from FFIX :biggrin1:

It's nice to see that someone else besides me appreciates all the little things that make videogames cool :biggrin1:

How is KH's execution that bad?

IMHO, it worked exceedingly well for a hybridisation between FF and Disney, of all the possible mixes out there

I used to think somewhat along those lines, but after playing the second KH, I changed my perception of the game - it 'matures' considerably in KH2.

Personally I felt that KH 1 was excellent but KH 2, at least the first original release before they released the extended edition with the added scenes and bonus materials, was really sub-par and a step back for the franchise as a whole.

Have to agree with you there - the KH3 story and characters are just too alien for me to digest (and, for an FF fan, that's VERY alien!) :frown1:

I come from a family of gameheads, man. My little sister and I discuss the pros and cons of the new-style FF

Me, my bro, Mum and 2 sisters are all gameheadz haha. Had her (littlest sis) proficient on Alex Kidd (Sega Master System) by the age of three

Good to hear, dude!

Spread the love for video games, and not just legs! :biggrin1:
